Game crashes at various points

in The Walking Dead - Season 2 - iOS Support

As the title says, the game keeps crashing at different points. It mainly happens once I get it to load the data from season 1 and it crashes whilst loading it. I've tried closing all apps that are running in the background and resetting the device. The furthest I got was Lee saying "previously on the walking dead", it plays for about 5 seconds then the app closes and goes back to the ipod home screen. I am using an ipod touch 4th gen with software 6.1.6 (there is no more updates for 4th gen).
Season 1 worked ok but just can't seem to figure out why I can't get season 2 to run properly

    I apologize for the inconvenience, unfortunately the listing of iPod support in the Compatibility section for the Walking Dead: Season 2 app is incorrect. The Description section has an accurate list of supported hardware. We are not able to update this section on the store, and we encourage you to either ask Apple for a refund or, if you have the option, to play on a supported device. I sincerely apologize for any difficulties this may cause you.

    Thanks for your response. Got it to work but it crashes whilst loading the part after the camp fire. Will try a few more things to get it working
