Some episode saves lost

Hi,

I just started the game again to play episode 4. I had completed all previous episodes (as well as in Season One, if that makes a difference), but for some reason it is only showing saves (and player choices) up to partway through episode 2. I haven't touched the game or its files since I finished episode 3 a couple months ago, when it was working fine. Here's my support data: https://www.sendspace.com/file/n2lfpk

Thanks!

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify if you have Steam Cloud Saving enabled? If so, does disabling it allow you to see your saves properly?

  • It was enabled, I tried disabling it after something I read in another thread but that didn't help.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Please try deleting your SyncFs folder from your

C:\Users\%Username%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead Season Two\ file directory,

and then restart Steam, and allow the game to update, then start the game and see if your save files are restored. If the issue persists, can you please clarify if Steam ever switched to Offline Mode while playing the game?

  • Unfortunately that hasn't solved the issue. I don't remember Steam switching to offline mode, but it's certainly possible since my internet was dodgy possibly around the time I was playing the game. Sorry I can't be more informative, and thanks for the help so far! Anything else I can try?

Unfortunately I do not see any errors in your support tool information, and if Steam ever switched to Offline Mode during gameplay, your save file may not have been successfully uploaded to the cloud. Then when you started the game connected to the internet, the cloud may have synced your save files with the wrong files, and corrupted your saves. Unfortunately if this is the case, I would have to recommend that you delete your game saves, and disable Steam Cloud completely for the game, then start a new game in Season Two. I sincerely apologize for any difficulties this may cause you.
