Walking Dead crashing

So I purchased the walking dead season 1-2 as well as wolf among us from steam.
I played through the walking dead season 1 no problem and quite enjoyed it. However upon trying to start walking dead season 2 or Wolf among us I get a black screen and then desktop with no error messages in the least.
I've searched issues and have done everything I could find on the message boards.
I'm running windows 7 64-bit.
Tried verifying game files through steam.
Tried uninstalling and re-installing 4 times.
Tried every combination of Compatibility modes and running as an admin as well.

I ran the specs program provided in other rooms as well for you ahead of time : https://www.sendspace.com/file/j5dcbj
My Machine says its running more than enough to meet the minimum requirements so I'm sorta at a loss. Any help would be wonderful
thanks.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Below are a few possible solutions (You may have tried a few, but I will post all of the potential solutions to resolve the issue below):

    1) Ensure you have the latest drivers for both your graphics card, and your computer’s BIOS

    2) Restart your system

    3) Unplug your gamepad (and all other USB devices other than keyboard/mouse) and plug in headphones to the audio out jack.

    4) Verify your cache if you purchased through Steam (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335)

    5) Run the game as admin

    6) Run the game in compatibility mode (right click on game, click properties, click compatibility tab , and we recommend running the game in Windows 98/ME ) (We recommend Windows 98/ME)

    7) Reinstall the game

    8) Make sure that the Steam application is not set to a compatibility mode (right click on steam and click properties, then check compatibility, and make sure that it is not checked to play in a different OS)

    9) Disable Steam Overlay, if you purchased through Steam (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3168263)

    10) Opt out of the Steam Beta, if you purchased through Steam (http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/828934424165581080/)

Can you please clarify if you have tried all of the options with Compatibility Mode disabled, and enabled?

  • Yes when attempting to try any option I try with and without compatibility mode. The only option I had not known about when you posted the list was the steam overlay. However with and without compatibility this option hasn't helped the issue any. The start up is always the same. Black screen then desktop within a second. No error messages.

Can you please clarify if you have tried all of the options with Compatibility Mode disabled, and enabled?

I apologize for the inconvenience. My only other suggestion would be to try uninstalling the game, then make sure any anti-virus or internet firewall programs open and running are disabled, then reinstall the game, and start it while connected to the internet. Unfortunately if the issue remains resolved, I would have to recommend that you contact Steam Support for further assistance, and see if they possibly have any other Steam-related suggestions for you to resolve your issue.

"Please note that we do not provide technical support for third party titles"

It's depressing that I get the run around and neither side is willing to resolve the issue on a broken game.
I will not be purchasing Tell Tale products in the future. It's a risk far to high if they can't get the game working. Also as a part of the indie developer local community I'll be sure they too know that if there purchasing products from Tell Tale that they could easily loose there money on game that won't work and not be able to get there money or game.
This mess is unplayable and its not just one game. Both Season 2 and wolf among do the same thing so I'm assuming its the engine itself. It's simply not fair to anyone who's encountered this issue and left unresolved, and poorer for it. Not fair at all.

My apologies, I have a few more suggestions for you to try. Please also try adjusting your computer's monitor resolution to a standard 16:9 or 4:3 ratio and restart the game, and see if you are able to get to the game's menu screen. If not, please also try launching the game while disconnected from the internet, and see if the game launches successfully.
