Can't restart episode 1

Hello!

I have a problem.
I've already played through episode one and I was starting episode two when I realized in the introduction that the choices shown weren't the same ones I made in episode one. I went to explore and fair enough, my episode one choices had been randomized for some reason. I verified the game files through Steam and it did not work. I tried to replay episode one but when the game asked me to choose a new save slot I couldn't interact with anything and all I could do was to tab out of the game to exit.

I've uninstalled the game and re-installed it to the same driver where all of my Steam files are but it did not fix the problem. The thing that bothers me the most is that I can not replay episode one because this error, glitch, bug or whatever you want to call it keeps me from clicking anything. I can't even access the save slots from the main menu in the game without this happening.

How can I find my episode one save files? Or is there a way to fix the bug so I can replay the entire first episode?
I'm eagerly looking forward to your answer. Thank you in advance!

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify if you have Steam Cloud Saving enabled? If so, does disabling it, and restarting the game allow you to see your saves properly?

  • Thank you for the reply!

Unfortunately disabling Steam Cloud Saving doesn't seem do anything. My choices from episode one are still randomized and I cannot start a new game because the game doesn't let me interact with the save files for some reason. Seemingly nothing has changed yet.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately it sounds as if your save file has become corrupted. Unfortunately if this is the case, I would have to recommend that you uninstall the game from Steam, then completely delete the save file directory from the game by deleting the

The Walking Dead Season Two folder from the following directory:

C:\Users\%Username%\Documents\Telltale Games\ file directory if on PC,

    or

~Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/ file directory if on Mac,

After deleting the folder, please reinstall the game through your Steam Library, and make sure Steam Cloud saving is Disabled. Then start the game, and you should not experience this issue again.
