Activation Problem - Firewalls

Just a quick note to anyone who may be having a problem with activating episodes.

I downloaded Sam and Max Episode 1, Season 1. On the launcher it says version 2.0.0.8. I'm running WinXP Pro with SP3.

The launcher couldn't seem to contact the server to activate the episode by any of the available means.

I have a Linux firewall/DHCP/DNS/router which sits between my network and the Internet.

I went and unplugged the firewall from the external line, re-configured my PC and connected it directly to the Internet. I started the launcher again and this time I could activate the episode with no problems.

I would find it very helpful if someone (preferably from Telltale) could explain to me what I changes I need to make to my Linux firewall in order to let the activation process work. For example, do I need to forward any ports? I have been searching through the forums for some time and I could not find any summation of what the procedure is in this case.

I'm on a network with a lot of other people and I just can't go taking the network down at random times to simply do product activation on protected software.

I would greatly appreciate any information about how to get the activation process to work properly on my network.

The activation server is run by SecuROM so we can't actually help here, but if you email support@securom.com with this information they can probably give you some advice.
