  • Thread: Updating content glitch ps3 walking dead season 2

I went to play episode 5 and it went to "updating content" when i started the game and froze. Any news on a patch or anything so I don't have to start over?

  • I only opened an account to complain. If this game cost more than $20, I'd be furious. The story is awesome. The delivery is terrible.

This game often glitches/mini-freezes even though there's very little occurring on the screen. When the graphics on a complex game like Skyrim hiccups it's understandable. When a simple game like WTD hiccups it's a sign of bad game programmers and low quality standards.

I could make this game single handedly in Flash.
Yet with all of Telltales resources they put out mediocre pick a path adventures with game breaking bugs.

The Updating Content game breaking bug is the worst bug I've experienced in a game that is this simple. I've studied Computer Science. This bug would be easy to fix if ANY resources had been allocated to fixing it. The point being that resources were never allocated to fix this bug.

On top of frequent graphics hiccups and the Updating Content game breaker, my save file became corrupt twice (forcing me to delete the file and restart the game). I've seen forums about that bug too.

I've never had one of my PS3 save files become corrupt before, and it blows my mind that the cheapest most easy to re-create game that I own is the problem.

Perhaps that's the problem. You get what you pay for. It was a cheap game.

I used to think Telltale had a unique style. Now I see them for what they really are.

    Cheap. Low Budget. Low Standards.

The game writers are clearly a lot more talented than the game programmers. It's sad when games are made that way.

The Walking Dead copyright owners should strongly consider finding a new partner before Telltale tarnishes the brand any more.

I will never buy a Telltale product again.

Screen still says "Updating Content..." and it always will.

  • Having this issue as well.

Instead of starting over, can i use my existing save data, buy Episode 5 digitally and start there??? Does anyone know if the save data from the disc version plays nice with the digital version??

The PS3 save data should work with both the physical disc version of the game, and the digital download version of the game. Please make sure that both versions are from the same region (North America vs. Europe) or the saves will not be compatible. If you are able to successfully use your saves with the digital version, please reply, as we are still currently looking into this particular issue.

  • Got the Season Pass.
Installed all 5 episodes just in case.
Booted installed game- update patch. So i went to download and install it.
    PS3 double beeps and resets.
    Try again, same thing happens.
Unplugged ethernet cable and game booted fine, (showed the font in purple indicating it read my save file and its ready for Episode 5).
    Shows all 5 episodes installed.
Installed patch while in-game. Worked fine.
Under "My Choices", it shows all my choices i made from disc version. (Good sign).
Went to Episodes, couldnt launch Episode 5 directly.
Went to save files, shows a save file but now its a NEW save file thus overwriting my previous save (good thing for Online Storage or id be PISSED).
Seems like the game reads my save but it gets stuck at a certain point until i fiddle through the options then it does the autosave somewhere in between and overwrites my original save.

So in other words, this did NOT work. Now Im really upset about this. Clearly the game showed my choices but i cant just start at Chapter 5 for some reason??? After reading the boards its been about a year and no fixes so Im not going to hold my breath for an update.
