Saved Files will not Load for Season 1 and 2 Xbox 360

I purchased season 1 on disc and 400 days and the season 2 season pass off Xbox live. I just downloaded/installed season 2: Episodes 4 and 5 today and it cannot find my saved games. The last time this happened with Season 2 episode I REPLAYED all of Season 1 and 400 days. Please tell me I don't have to replay these games again! How can I get my saved Files loaded? I cleared my cache, I downloaded the Season 2 update, but it will only load episode 1 but 2-5 show "new" and 1-3 have been played. Also when I load the disk for the original Season 1 and 400 days -NO files appear. And both saved games are showing on my hardrive. Please help!!

I apologize for the inconvenience. I recommend try clearing your system's cache again, and re-download episodes 2-5. Then go offline, and start the game without downloading the latest Title Update, and see if you are then able to see your save files successfully in-game.

I am having a similar issue to this person. I recently copied all the files from Season 1 (Episodes 1-5 and 400 Days) to a memory card so that I could transfer them to another hard drive, but I ran into a problem. The Season 1 Title Update refused to be copied/moved, and when I tried to load up Season 1, I was told none of the episodes were available (i.e. I had to install them again). However, I do not currently have Internet access for my Xbox 360, and at any rate do not know at this point if reinstalling them would erase any progress I already made with Season 1 (as I completed it already). All the episodes and 400 Days, including my save file, remain on the memory card, still plugged into the hard drive, and yet this issue remains. Is it the Title Update that is to blame?

The real issue for me now, though, is how this affects Season 2. I already finished Episodes 1-3 of Season 2 prior to moving these files, and worry that playing Episode 4 now would mean playing without the weight of Season 1 behind it, given the issues I mentioned above. All my Season 2 files are similarly on the memory card (I had to move them as well), yet they load up just fine. So what's going on here?

My apologies, unfortunately the episodes are not stored inside of your save files, and you will need to either download the episodes again on your current Xbox 360.

If you have already started Season Two, and have already imported your saves from Season One into Season Two, you will not need the Season One save files anymore, as your Season One choices will be saved within your Season Two save files.

This is true even if the Season 2 files had to likewise be moved and are all present on a memory card? I heard that the game has to pull data from Season 1; you're saying all that data (you say 'choices'; I say 'data' to refer to everything Season 2 checks for; are they one and the same?) is already present within Season 2's files if you've started a Season 2 game with them imported?

Even so, I'm confused about your first sentence. Are you saying the Season 1 episodes aren't stored in the episode files I copied to this memory card? Because those were transferred in addition to the save file I had from Season 1 (like I said, everything was copied to that card minus the Season 1 Title Update). If so, why, if the Season 2 episodes are in their respective files (since they loaded without issue)? Are they stored differently from Season 2, or is it something else?

Yes, your data from Season One, once imported into Season Two and at least one chapter/checkpoint save is created, the data will be stored in your Season Two save files.

Unfortunately you will need to download the Title Update in order for the Season One Episodes as installed on your new console.

  • I see. I had a feeling that Title Update would be important. Unfortunately I can't download it at this time thanks to how my Internet is currently set up. Xbox 360s don't come with wireless capability, and wireless Internet is all I've got right now. I guess I'll just have to wait until that changes.

Thank you. At least I'll be able to play Season 2 without worry.

  • Telltale Mike....I did all you said and it didn't work. I've even waited a couple days - and nope...can't load my saved Files. Hopefully I can get a refund. I really liked this game too.

My apologies. Unfortunately if you are still unable to see your save files for Season Two in-game, your save files may have become corrupted. This can happen if the game was ever closed, or exited, or the console powered off, during an autosave or loading sequence. Unfortunately my only other recommendation would be to delete your Season Two files, and see if you are able to re-import your Season One files, and play from the beginning of Season Two. For any inquiries regarding refunds, or refund requests for the Microsoft Xbox 360 version of the game, please contact Microsoft Support for further assistance regarding that request.
