Wallace & Gromit Unofficial FAQ (Last Updated November 5, 2017)
Note that all information in this FAQ is compiled by community moderators Jennifer and Vainamoinen. We check our facts thoroughly and have a lot of Telltale experience on our backs, but this is not an 'official' source, we're just volunteers!
(1) What is Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures?
Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures is an episodic adventure game set in the universe created by Aardman Animations. It follows the English inventor Wallace and his faithful (and very smart) dog Gromit as Wallace creates inventions and Gromit attempts to fix the problems caused by them.
(2) Was Aardman Animations involved in the game?
Telltale worked with Aardman to make sure that the characters and story stayed true to the greater Wallace & Gromit universe. In addition, Aardman's official back up voice for Wallace, Ben Whitehead performed the role in the game.
(3) Why didn't Peter Sallis play Wallace?
An adventure game contains much more dialog than a 30 minute film, or even a feature length film, so the task of providing voice acting for the role is very taxing, and Peter Sallis was 89 at the time that Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures was released. Telltale did use Aardman's official back up voice for Wallace, Ben Whitehead, who voices Wallace for products such as commercials and for toys, and has since voiced him in some cartoons, such as Jubilee Bunt-a-Thon and Wallace & Gromit's Musical Marvels. Ben Whitehead became the official voice of Wallace after the death of Peter Sallis in 2017.
(4) What is gameplay like?
This game was released before the cinematic story games such as The Walking Dead, so the gameplay doesn't consist of choices and consequences. The gameplay consists of puzzles which are mostly solved through manipulating objects and talking to characters.
(5) For which platforms was Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures available?
It used to be available for digital download on PC, XBLA on Xbox 360, and iOS (however just the second episode), but these versions are no longer available because Telltale opted not to renew the rights to the Wallace & Gromit license.
(6) Can you still purchase Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures?
Only the PC version was ever released at retail. It has since gone out of print, and is only available on the second hand market.
(7) How many episodes are there in Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures?
There are four episodes. The episode titles are Fright of the Bumblebees, The Last Resort, Muzzled, and The Bogeyman.
(8) Will Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures be ported to other platforms?
This is unlikely as Telltale lost the rights to the Wallace & Gromit license.
(9) Is there be a bonus/free collector's DVD version for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures available from the Telltale store?
There was, but unfortunately the collector's DVD is now out of print.
(10) Is there a soundtrack CD available?
No soundtrack CD was ever produced for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures. Since Telltale has mostly moved on from physical merchandise, it seems unlikely that a soundtrack CD will be released in the future.
(11) Will there be more Wallace & Gromit games by Telltale?
No. Since Telltale didn't renew the rights to sell Wallace & Gromit games, they no longer have the rights to make new games either.
