Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines
I figured I'd follow suit by posting another fan thread; I was just curious how many people knew about this game? I don't think it's that popular anymore (the company went bankrupt and it was released in 2004). It's probably the best game I've ever played. RPGFPS with TONS of easter eggs, insane replayability, in depth characters, humor, a great storyline, and even quasi-philosphical momements here and there, there is a reason it is continually being modded even 10 years after it's release. Plus it was made in part by Tim Cain, designer of Arcanum, and creator of the original Fallout.
Serious:
"The folly of leadership is knowing that no matter what you do, behind your back, there's hundred's certain that their own solution is the sounder one and that your decision was the by-product of a whimsical dart toss. I pronounce the blast sentence, and I soak the critical fallout. I make the decisions no one else will. Leadership. I wear the albatross, and the bullseye."

I immediately fell in love with this game the moment I saw it. I haven't played it myself but I've seen a few playthroughs for it. It's a damn shame the company went bankrupt (as you said) due to them releasing the game the same day when Half-Life 2 came out. Seriously, you don't see many (or any) games nowadays that look/feel similar to Bloodlines anymore!
This is probably my favourite game of all time, I loved playing as a malkavian , it was even better than Redemption.
A shame there was nevere a sequel, it would be amazing to see someone adapt more of the VtM universe to video games, maybe telltale could do something?
Also: I hate LaCroix
There was also Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption. It's not as good as Bloodlines (and completely different interface) but it's still pretty good. You play both the Middle Ages and in modern New York. Vampire the Masquerade is also part of a large franchise, and there's a clan that went extinct in the Middle Ages which appears in Redemption but not in Bloodlines (Cappadocians - one of the main characters in Redemption is a Cappadocians, but they were diablerized by the Giovanni in the Renaissance).
Some claim the cappadocians are still alive, as the harbingers of skulls, there's also the Tremere who stole the dark gift from saulot.
Honestly I hope that if there is another game, they expand on the mythology and go deeper into the jyhad and the rivalry between the clans, Bloodlines did a good job of it but I was saddened by the lack of Tzimisce, one of my favourite clans.
It's a great franchise for RPGs honestly, I'm still waiting for the World Of Darkness MMO
