Samsung Galaxy S3 Crashes

I posted this elsewhere in the support forums and now see this forum is much more relevant, so I'm posting it here as well.

I came here and created an account for the exact same reason (lots of Galaxy S3 users reporting similar problems). I left a bad review on the Play Store and e-mailed customer service directly, but have not yet heard back.

I downloaded and installed the game just a couple days ago. Last night I paid my $14.98 for the season pass and installed episode 2. Love the game and ready for more. Funny enough, the game crashed at the end of episode 1 and I never even got to see how it ended. But I have become used to this with the TellTale games available on Android. Same thing happened with Walking Dead... right before every other Save point the game would crash and I'd have to replay a section to advance a little farther, then deal with another crash, and repeat.

I can deal with the constant crashing because I can still advance in the game... I'm used to it at this point. My problem is I just spent money on this game, and now I can't play it anymore. It was fine when it was free.

So that's my problem, and I hope TellTale takes it seriously and resolves this issue. It's clear I'm not the only one with the problem. Especially once I give the following information:

Samsung Galaxy S3, Android OS 4.4.2, Latest version of the app was installed last night, The troubleshooting steps I have read in other threads did not change the error either(including device reset, uninstall/reinstall of app, clearing memory, force closing other apps, etc)

I'd appreciate a fix for this as soon as possible since my money is being held in limbo now.

EDIT: Android version is 4.4.2 KitKat, not 4.2.2 JellyBean. For the record, 4.4.2 is the most up-to-date OS available for the Samsung Galaxy S3 on Verizon.

    Apologies for the delayed response. Unfortunately your device uses a Mali 400MP4, which is below the minimum system requirements to run the game successfully. We require a minimum of a Mali T600 or equivalent GPU to run the game, otherwise the game may encounter performance issues such as these. We recommend playing on an Android device above the minimum system requirements, or contacting Google Play Support for further assistance, or a refund request.

  • 1) where were these minimum specs posted? I can't find them in the Google Play app page. The faq on the official page only lists pc and Mac requirements.

  • Then why allow it to be downloaded on the galaxy s3, or allow them(myself included) to purchase the season pass. I can run episode 1 fairly well with not too frequent crashes but cannot start episode 2.

  • WDS1 worked perfectly fine on my Galaxy tab 3, and WDS2 Ep1 works fine as well. I purchased the seasons pass and now do not have the option to download ep2-5, getting the error that they will be available soon. When I checked the page on google play, I saw that the Tab 3 is not supported. Really?? Why is season 1 supported on the Tab 3 and not season 2? Anyway, so I've emailed customer service twice about this issue and heard nothing back! This is terrible customer service!

Please note that if your device does not meet the minimum system requirements to run the game successfully, we recommend either playing the game on a device that meets the minimum specs to run the game, or contacting Google Play Support for any inquiries regarding refunds, or refund requests for the game.
