WD Season 2 save import not functioning on Vita.

Hi there, I'm having an issue where the save transfer is simply not working. Here were my steps:

  1. Played through TWD Season 1+400 Days fully (Retail North American copy).
  2. Uploaded save to PS+, deleted TWD Season 1 from my Vita.
  3. [many months pass, probably not relevant], inserted TWD Season 1 cartridge (Retail North American copy) and downloaded save from PS+.
  4. Booted TWD Season 1 to confirm save data is complete and intact [save data was complete and intact with all 6 episodes complete].
  5. Inserted TWD Season 2 cartridge (Retail North American copy).
  6. Accidentally booted the title, then closed the title and deleted the title to ensure a "fresh" title was present after reinserting the cartridge.
  7. Selected the save transfer tool from TWD Season 2 Live Area, selected "OK".
  8. Met with message "Could not find saved data on the PS Vita card that can be used with this application.".
  9. Swapped in TWD Season 1 cartridge, repeated steps 7 and 8.
  10. Repeated step 4 to re-confirm save data integrity. Save data is still complete and intact.

No matter what I try, despite my save data being fully intact, it's simply not being recognized. I suspect it has to do with uploading a save to PS+, but that's just a guess.

  • As a note, I never touched the digital version of either title, nor any non-North American region cartridge.

Just replayed the last scene of 400 Days in order to trigger a save. The save data transfer tool still son't recognize the presence of a save at all.

Can you please clarify if you have tried starting Season Two, and hitting Play, then choosing a save slot? After doing this, you will be taken to the Import Saves screen where Season Two will automatically look for Season One saves, and begin importing them for you.

  • Hey guys I had the same problem with the save not transferring, but it works for me now! Basically do what TelltaleMike says and start the game and then start the first episode, after that Lee's familiar face appears in a cool screenshot from season 1, you'll then get a message asking you if you want transfer your choices made in season 1 press yes then it finds your save file with both season 1 and 400 days (if you played it) listed on the file. Press on the save file and your good to go, after a notification about the save transfer being successful the episode begins! So just start the episode then it asks you to transfer, I was hesitant at first because I didn't want the game to start without my choices but the game doesn't start without asking you about the transfer. Makes me wonder why they even have the live area option it was so much easier in game, yet still kinda confusing on how to do it, also I'm not sure if you have to be connected to the internet because I thought all vita game saves were on the game card/digital game file but I was connected at the time so you might want to be too. Either way I figured I'd write on here that this way does work. I did do this with retail copies purchased through amazon and best buy in the states.
