Language issues persist!

Hi. I'm currently playing 'The Walking Dead - Season 1' on my Samsung Galaxy S3 (fully updated)

I enjoyed Season 1 with no issues, except at the Dairy where Lily and her father are sitting at decking area, my choices showed up as German. The game soon corrected itself.

Now I'm attempting to play '400 Days' and it keeps changing to Spanish.

It's no good suggesting we reset the game as the problem persists and you keep having to rewatch unskippable cut-scenes and repeat actions.

I purchased both Seasons simultaneously via google play. If Telltale are unwilling to correct the language issues with Season 1, can I at least get refunded for Season 2? If I pay for a game, I expect to be able to play it!

Thankyou

I apologize for the inconvenience. Please try force closing any and all applications running in the background, and reset your device. Then start the game application, and rewind a chapter/checkpoint before your experienced the issue, and it should not occur again. For any inquiries regarding refunds, or refund requests for purchases made through the Google Play Store, please contact Google Play Support directly, and they will be able to assist you further.

I too encountered the language switch to German at that point in the game (dairy farm) last night while playing. Not a huge issue, I kind of figured out what the dialog options were by context and rudimentary German language knowledge, but it would be nice to know this won't occur during some really crucial bit of time-constrained dialog option.

My apologies, if you are playing on an Android device, please try closing any and all applications that are open in the background while playing The Walking Dead, to make sure that all of the device's processing speed is directed towards the performance of the game. You should be able to force close, and restart the game application, then rewind to the chapter/checkpoint before you started experiencing the issue, and it should not occur again.

  • Hi Mike,

Thanks for your time, no need to apologize - however I don't think it's performance related:
I just replayed for testing's sake the same story part and it happened again at the exact same location (when talking to Lily and her dad at the dairy farm's gazebo right after a certain event involving an arrow). The only app active on the tablet (a quadcore 1.2GHz with 1Gb ram) was indeed TWD, I made sure of this before testing it out. I hope this helps in finding the cause of the problem.

Can you please clarify if when you tested it, that you rewinded to the previous chapter/checkpoint before that chapter, or did you continue the episode where you last left off?

  • Hi there, sorry about the delayed response:
When I tested it, since I hadn't progressed that much, I rewound to a checkpoint before the scene in question.

Thank you for the extra information, I will make sure to pass it along to the team. If you still experience the issue after force closing the game app, and rewinding to the previous chapter/checkpoint, can you please clarify what Android device in particular you are playing on, and what Android OS version it is currently updated to?
