can't rewind my game in Season 2 ( PS4 )

Hello Guys,
i have a problem with my save file.
i finished the game on sunday and wanted to rewind the game to get all four endings.
each on another save file ( like on my pc )
but because of an unknown reason, if i start the rewind process and have chosen the slot where i want the file to appear it starts loading and loading but nothing happens, even the disc stops spinning after a while ( if they spin )
i have both games on discs and dont know what to do :/

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify if you can access your save files from the Save Files menu from the Main Menu of Season Two? When you open the Save Files menu, does the screen become frozen, or are you able to access your save slots successfully?

  • Same here ! Can't rewind my save on PS4 :/ WTF ? Ô.o

  • Have the same error, my save 1 worked well and I got to the end but each time I try to rewind the game prompts me to select a save slot, I do and it gets stuck on a loadin wheel for hours, after I close the application the game says that that specific save slot is for a new game with no choices yet, please help

  • So i tried to rewind the game to another episode start yesterday ( episode 4 ), it started but my choices where the exact opposite of the ones i made, like picking the supplies from the stranger in season 1 etc.
and no, it doesnt get frozen, it just starts loading when i choose to rewind to a chapter and decided where i want to save it, then it loads for ages and it looks like its stuck in the loading screen, the loading symbol does still move but yeah.. thats all
i am still able to access everything in the menu ( after i re-opened the game )

  • I also seem to be encountering this issue. Just finished Season 2 on the PS4. I can open the save files menu just fine and select the first save slot, but attempting to rewind it to any other slot just leaves a spinner in the middle of the screen forever. If I close the application and reopen it, it looks like the new save slot has some of my progress but not all of it ("My Choices" still has a padlock over it, but I am given the option to start the game from some of the later chapters). I'd also like to see the other endings, so any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My apologies, we have had reports from players experiencing this issue, and are currently looking further into the root cause of the issue. We hope to have a resolution in the near future. Unfortunately at this time, the only workaround is to upload your saves to the Playstation Online Storage and start a new game, or delete the Save Data Utility for the game from the Storage Management menu on your PS4's XMB, and start a new game in Season Two. Again, my apologies for any difficulties this may cause you, as we look further into the issue.

  • Same problem for me!

  • The exact same problem here. I tried to rewind the PS4 edition from the end of Season 2 to see a different ending. I select a blank save slot (2) and the spinning busy icon appears and stays there until I force-quit the application. Please fix.

If you are unable to rewind to an empty save slot, can you please clarify if you are able to rewind, and play if you rewind to the same save slot in which your save games are on?

  • I have the same issue; you can rewind but only use the same save slot; using a different save slot gives you a never-ending loading icon.

  • I take that back, after rewinding on the same save file, I get error CE-34878-0.

  • I'm having the same issue here in NZ on the downloaded ps4 version. I completely restarted the game and now it will not load when I die, it freezes and I have to reload the app, but I am finding that when this happens and I reload the game, no data has been saved. I have deleted all the save data and now I'm going to try again. It is very frustrating, especially as I was at the end of the game and wanted to change one of my choices :(

  • I tried to rewind too and I also got the CE-34878-0 error

  • I can't rewind my game either! Wtf?! So I paid $25 for a broken game. I was going to buy the wolf game and game of thrones after I finished this. But I can't rewind because it just loads forever everytime. I'm so disappointed. The time I put into this game and now I find out it doesn't work right. Just ruined my entire experience. I've been reading this forum too it seems telltale doesn't give much feed back. Now I understand why there not putting a game out this year

My apologies, can you please clarify if you were playing through a large chunk of the game in one sitting? (More than two episodes at a time) Did you ever stop playing, turn off your console, then turn it back on, and continue from where you left off successfully, or did you experience the issue the first time you tried to continue from where you left off?

  • I'm having the same above issues. Ive finished the game and would like to rewind from a new save slot and change the last choice but the load screen just crashes. I played chapter 5 from the electric power station until the end since when my ps4 had been turned off if that's answers your question Mike

Can you please clarify how many save slots you are currently using in-game? Is it only one save slot, or multiple save slots? If you have multiple save slots being used, please try deleting one that you are not using, and see if you are then able to rewind the game to the desired point. If you only have the one save slot currently in use, unfortunately your save file may have become corrupted, and the only way to replay the game would be to start a New Game. I apologize for any difficulties this may cause you.

  • Same problem here PS4. I cannot rewind in a new slot or over the old slot.

I am actively using one save file, when I try to rewind to a new slot it will create a new save (in slot 2 or 3) but doesn't have anything marked as complete, none of my choices are in there, and it doesn't have my season 1 imported. If I try to start a later chapter it tells me it will randomly assign choices. Basically, it makes a new but completely empty save.

  • I'm having the same issue, I want to get the different endings as well. I read all the comments in this support question, but I don't see any plans to fix the problem, is there any fixes in sight?

  • Same problem with my PS4, i cannot rewind and the stupid game is ignoring some of my choices. this has been going on far to long. i cant rewind and some of my choice are ignore. In ep 3 i watch carver get kill but in ep4 it showed that i didn't watch him get kill. i am not going to end this game with a choice that wasn't mine. I reason i love the game is because of the choices now i can't chose or even rewind to fix the problem when will this be fix.

Are you playing the Disc version or the Digital Download version of the game? Also, are you connected to the internet when starting the game, and while playing the game to make sure you have received the latest updates available for the game, and so your choices are successfully updated with our servers?

  • Same problem here. I tried to rewind the PS4 Disc version from the end of Season 2 episode 5 to play a different ending. I select a blank save slot (2 or 3 or 4) and the spinning busy icon appears and stays there until I force-quit the game. After force-quitting It starts from the very beginning of season 2 episode 1 when using save slots 2 or 3 or 4. If I try to play later chapters the game tells me it will randomly assign the choices completely ignoring my choices from save slot 1.

  • Has this issue been resolved yet? I have just completed season 2 and want to go back to try the alternate endings. However, when I choose to rewind and pick a new save file, I am left with the endless spinning wheel.

Unfortunately I do not have any updates on the resolution of this particular issue for you at this time. Could you please clarify if you are currently playing the digital download version of the game, or the disc version of the game? • I am having the same problem. I go to rewind to a certain point in save file 1, and I get the endless spinning wheel. When I exit the game and come back, a save file is there but it is a file with no choices made - like the ones people have mentioned previously. The file in save file 1 is the only file in use, all others are empty. I have tried to rewind and copy the save into save files 2-4 and the endless spinning wheel still shows up. I have not tried to rewind the game and save it over my already completed playthrough because I don't want that one to get messed up by this issue. Also, I am playing this digitally, and I have tried it offline - does not fix the problem. Thank you for your help!

My apologies, are currently looking further into the root cause of the issue. We hope to have a resolution in the near future. Unfortunately at this time, the only workaround is to upload your saves to the Playstation Online Storage if you have the ability to, and start a new game, or delete the Save Data for the game from the Storage Management menu on your PS4's Settings menu, and start a new game in Season Two.

We have had reports from players experiencing this issue, that playing through Season Two in smaller increments allows them to play the Season in it's entirety without running into this issue. We have found that playing through multiple episodes in one sitting may be related to the cause of this issue occurring. I recommend try playing through each episode individually, then after completing an episode and before starting the next episode, try exiting/closing out of the game, and turning your system off, and back on again. Then start the next episode, and repeat the process. After you have reached Episode 5, you should then be able to play through the episode fully, and with all of your choices in-tact. Again, my apologies for any difficulties this may cause you, as we look further into the issue.

How many save slots are you currently using in-game? Also, are you currently playing online or offline? Do you currently have Playstation Online Cloud Storage enabled by any chance?

@beetlebailey Are you playing the digital download version of the game, or the disc version of the game? Also, if you are currently unable to rewind to a new save slot, are you able to start a new game on a new save slot? Or is that save slot completely inaccessible? If you are playing the disc version, are you playing the game offline, or online while logged into your PlayStation Account?
