game crashes every time 12 minutes into it

without fail, it starts stuttering and then crashes to desktop at the wine-filling scene with the other squire and the frey guy. this is unbelievably frustrating to not even be able to play the game past the first checkpoint or whatever.

@Lord-Inquisitor I apologize for the inconvenience. Please read this Sticky on how to run our Support Tool, and follow the steps to run the tool, and reply here with the download link copied and pasted into a reply. You can find the Sticky here:

@ABir001 My apologies, after looking over your Support Tool information, it seems that your computer is running below the minimum system requirements to run the game successfully. Where we require a minimum of 512mb of dedicated memory, your computer is currently running at 0mb of dedicated memory. Your computer uses an integrated graphics card, which we do not recommend using for our game, as they tend to run under minimum specs. I recommend either trying to update your current graphics card's drivers to the latest version, and see if you are able to play, or try playing the game on a computer above minimum system requirements if you have the ability to.

You can also try changing the game's resolution and graphics settings to a lower setting, and then continue the episode, and see if your issue is resolved.

@Samklutz After looking over your support tool, you should be able to play the game successfully. I recommend making sure your graphics card is updated to the latest version, to make sure it is not a graphics issue. If that does not resolve your issue, can you please clarify what the error message was when you received a BSOD?

  • The BSOD only happened once.
After that BSOD, the game would hang up with loud buzzing; no response with CTRL-ALT-DEL, no response with single push of power button, required holding power button down for 15+ seconds.

Updated the graphics card which fixed the hang up issue.
    Thank you.

After looking over your support tool information, your computer should be able to run the game successfully. I noticed you have crash dump files in

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Game of Thrones

Could you possibly take those .dmp and .mdmp files and zip them into a .zip file, and upload them to Sendspace.com, and reply with the download link as you did with the support tool?

If you are currently experiencing this issue, can you please clarify if you are currently using headphones to play the game? Also, do you currently have the game's sound set to 5.1 Surround Sound? If so, please try changing your computer's sound settings to Stereo (Left and Right Sound Only) then restart the episode, and see if you are able to progress past that particular part of the game.

Can you please clarify if you have tried updating your graphics card's drivers to the latest version? Also, have you tried running the game As an Administrator, or in a Compatibility Mode?

Yeah, I'm having this issue as well. https://www.sendspace.com/file/8051pl

  • I tried updating my drivers as well as running as administrator. It runs well for about 6-7 minutes and then, always at the same scene. First the game stutters for a second or two, then crashes to desktop.

Please see if your sound settings/output is set to 5.1 Surround Sound. If so, please try changing it to Stereo (Left and Right), then start the game, and see if you are able to progress past that part of the episode.

  • Found the problem. It was the fact that I normally use a USB headset, and for some reason this causes the game to crash at this point. It is a known bug. I have to ask if this will be patched, but for the meantime thanks for the feedback.

  • I had the same problem. Game was crashing at the exact same place each time. Was using an USB Plantronic C610 headset. Problem was solved after I unpluged it.

Playing the game on PC with Steam.

  • Hi Telltale Mike,

I have been facing different problems with both the walking dead season 1 and 2 and the wolf among us recently.

For walking dead season 1, everything doesn’t really function properly: the whole screen is black while I can still hear the background sound and the mini stream pop-up is lagging. I couldn’t play it at all even I tried to quit and relaunch stream or restart my computer.

For walking dead season 2, I can play it normally except that it always quitted unexpectedly. It quits like 3-4 times per episode I play. So as the wolf among us, such problem is even more serious; it quits every 5 minutes.
