GoT Books and TV show

Well, having played the first episode, I'm thinking about starting on the books, and the TV show (if I can get the money lol)

Would you recommend I read them/watch it? I'm more a TV fan than a book fan, but, I think I could get into the books.
Are the books better than the show?
Please share your opinions below. Thanks. :)

  • I'd absolutely recommend the books and the show man. You can't go wrong with either of them. I found that reading the books helped me to understand and appreciate the show more, but you can get by with only the show. Knowing more about the game of thrones universe will also help you understand a bit more about what's going on in the game and subtext between some of the characters. For example, you probably wouldn't understand what Ramsay meant when he said "well hopefully not just like the queen and her brother" in the final part of the episode. Small stuff like that will probably slip by you if you don't know the story.

  • Yeah, if you have the time, at least watch the shows, if you have even more time, read the books as well. You'll appreciate so much more of the references and have a different level of understanding for the games.

As a fan of the show and having read all the books, I got worried that Ramsay Snow was coming to my House. I knew how to infuriate Cersei, and I knew what it meant to go to the Wall.
