Problem in episode 1

I cannot get past the crossbow scene in episode1 - the screen shows to go UP, but it always jumps to the next scene when I am killed by arrows. No matter what I do, I go to the DEATH screen. HELP!!

    You have to press the W key on your keyboard. The game uses the standard WASD layout where W is up, A is left, S is down, and D is right. The mouse seems to be meant for clicking and exploring. Also, press the escape key to pause and access options, like making game full screen. Have fun.
