Tried everything to get saved data back OSX Yosemite
Recently bought TWD Season 1 from Steam. Played through first two episodes without problems. Almost completed episode 3, then I closed out of the program to go to sleep. Woke up this morning and tried launching TWD from my application folder and from Steam. It kept becoming unresponsive, so I restarted my comp (new Macbook Pro with Retina) and TWD launched, but as a different app then the one I had in my dock (when looking at my doc, I could see the version that had been working for me was not being used, but a new icon appeared and I could play the game though that app). The game had been completely wiped clean of all saved data including my resolution preferences. All my saved data is gone and I'm pissed because I'd have to start the game from the very beginning to develop the characters in the way that I wanted. I read all the forums about lost saved data and nothing worked. A "Steam" folder doesn't exist in my user/library/application_support folder.
Is there any hope of getting my files back? If not, I want a refund because there's no way I'm starting over from the beginng or even restarting episode 3 with per-programed choices.

/Users/Charles/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/The Walking Dead/TheWalkingDead.app/Contents/Resources/Pack/default/
and
/Users/Charles/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/The Walking Dead/TheWalkingDead.app/Contents/Resources/Pack/WalkingDead105/
to prefs.prop.bak to disable them, and restart the game, and your save files should be restored.
