Vanishing Mouse Icon

I'm playing on a Macbook Air, and when I'm in the tutorial to pick up the sword to clean it, my mouse icon disappears :-(

Please help?

  • I'm having the same problem, and I'm on a Windows HP laptop. My cursor disappears until I have to select a dialogue option or perform an action, and when it does show up, it's extremely laggy.

Can you please clarify if you are using a USB Mouse connected to your Macbook, or the Touchpad on the Macbook to play the game?

  • I'm using the Touchpad on my MacBook to play the game.

  • I am also using the touchpad on my MacBook Pro and I am unable to complete actions such as bringing up the shield in the first part of the game to block the incoming crossbow bolts and I am unable to progress in the game and it is very frustrating.

Please try using the corresponding Arrow Key on screen in order to complete any Quick-Time Events. There should be a Key, and an arrow at that particular point in the game, and pressing and holding the first key, and then the arrow key, should allow you to progress.

  • I am trying to clean the sword, right at the very very start of the game.

there's no evidence of a key to use and none of the arrows do anything.

My apologies, can you please clarify if you are playing in Full Screen Mode, or Windowed Mode? If you are playing in Full Screen Mode, does changing to Windowed Mode allow you to see the mouse cursor at that point in the game?

When you are playing in Windowed Mode using the touchpad, can you please clarify if you are able to see the mouse outside of the game's window, or does it disappear completely while the game is running?

  • It disappears completely while the game is running, reappears to pick up the sword, then disappears again when it's time to clean the sword....., (maybe my mouse just doesn't like blood)

After you pick up the sword, are you able to left click and hold the mouse button down, then drag the mouse to the right in order to complete the Quick-Time Event?

If you are experiencing a similar issue with the sword cleaning sequence, after you pick up the sword, are you able to left click and hold the mouse button down, then drag the mouse to the right in order to complete that particular Quick-Time Event?

  • The difficulty comes with the first combat sequence. Whereas before I was able to cope with the lack of cursor, here, whatever I do, the swipe upward will not work and the character dies. It prevents me from getting further.

When you encounter a Quick-Time Event with a directional arrow on screen, pressing and holding the corresponding Arrow Key on your keyboard should complete that particular sequence.
