Game Won't Start on Mac
I download the game through steam and when I try to play I get and error that just says Game of Thrones cannot be opened because of a problem. I have verified that this game should work on my Mac through steam and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game several times but nothing has worked.

Please make sure your more powerful graphics card is enabled when starting the game, by following the steps in This Apple Support Page.
I changed to the more powerful card and the the game still wont open and I get the same problem with the game error.
My apologies. We have had reports of Mac users running 10.6.8 that the game does not work. We are currently looking into the root cause of the issue, and hope to have more information soon.
I'm having the exact same issue!
Yes, let's please bump this thread up!
My Mac version is also 10.6.8. I downloaded the game several days ago and haven't been able to play it. I verified the cache integrity several times, deleted it and download it again on Steam and nothing seems to fix it. I suspect there are many of us with the same error; we just don't know where to go or how to fix it.
It seems really unfair to spend $30+ on a game and never be able to play it. I get the same Mac error message as other people:
"Game of Thrones cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Game of Thrones works with this version of Max OS X. You may need to reinstall the application." etc etc
Im having the same problem, any updates on this?
same problem, trying to run GoT on 10.6.8

Any updates on this issue? I am also having this problem. Thanks.

After what period of time will y'all be offering a refund? It's been nearly a month.
We are currently working on a fix, and hope to have more information in the near future!
I encountered the same problem. Here is one possible work around. My computer is a 08-09' Macbook that was running OS 10.6 X. Originally I figured my system met the minimum requirements to play the game...I was incorrect and subsequently got the same error message as you. I then went to the app store and downloaded "OS Yosemite", which is currently one of (if not the only) OS available for d/l in the app store. NOTE: the download takes at least an hour and will look like no progress is being made, however, just leave the computer alone (I assure you it is downloading). Now, after d/l Yosemite I tried to "run" GoT again and was stymied. But I then downloaded "STEAM" and upon completion of the d/l and creating a STEAM account (only takes 1min.) You then simply import GoT into your STEAM library of games and BOOM,GoT was up and running!!! I hope this
helps!
Enjoy the game,
Steve
Yes very much looking forward to finding out what's going on with this.
Thank the Gods. Maester_Steve this totally worked, thank you. FINALLY!
Glad to be of service...seven blessings!
Hey Mike,
I posted a possible workaround to the problem posters to this thread have been experiencing. It has solved at least one other user's issue:

I'm having the same issue now. I played ep. 1 perfectly fine, but was unable to sign in to my account b/c it was 'unable to connect to game server,' and episode 2 wasn't updating; So I downloaded the game again, and now it won't even start. It immediately crashes after initial 'click to continue.'

It should be directing you to download the patch for Mac here: http://cdn.telltalegames.com/downloads/gameofthrones/mac/patch.html
After initial download open the file and move the new GoT to "Applications" folder. From this point upload the new GoT application to your STEAM account. You also may have to change your security settings to allow the game to be played since it is not from the App store. This is a simple fix, just go into Security and Privacy settings -----> General and make the change.
Hope this helps...
It's still not working.
Thanks anyway
Hello folks,
I started up a new thread but figued I'd copy an paste here instead.
I just reDL'd the game (from Telltale site) after having trouble signing in. And now when I start up the game it crashes. Amazing.
I had a look through the forum and saw a couple of the same threads, with no solution that I could see.
I'm running the latest version on Yosemite - 10.10.2
Heres the Support stuff:

Cheers
I've deleted everything and I'm going to try and re DL. Again.
How do I import it into my library exactly?
My apologies, if you are still experiencing this issue, please make sure that you have downloaded the critical Mac patch necessary for Episode 2, and the game, to run successfully. If you did not receive the alert to download the patch, or if you are experiencing issues downloading the patch via in-game, please also try downloading it directly from a web browser, and follow the steps in the Game of Thrones PC/Mac Patch Thread to download the patch and place it in the right directory.
I have downloaded and installed the patch several times. It still quits immediately after "Click to Begin" while checking for DLC.
We have updated the critical Mac patch today, and you should now be able to start the game, and download Episode 2 successfully without the game crashing. Please make sure that you have downloaded the latest version of the patch from the Game of Thrones PC/Mac Patch Thread and followed the instructions to install it, and you should be able to start the game, and download Episode 2.
I'm signing in and then being told I can't log in.
What is going on??
I apologize for the inconvenience. If you are experiencing difficulties logging into your Telltale Account, please try restarting the game. Then after you have finished entering in your email address and password, instead of clicking 'Sign In', try pressing the Enter/Return Key on your keyboard, and see if you are then able to log in successfully, and play the game.
Thats got it cheers. I'm now DLing the 2nd episode.
Can't DL anything, it keeps timing out.
Any suggestions?
Please make sure you have closed any other programs running in the background on your computer, and also try resetting your internet access point to ensure that you have the strongest internet connection possible when attempting to download the episode. You can also try restarting your computer before starting the download again.
