Snow White "In Sheep's Clothing" Secret Review

So I was scrolling through Telltale's Twitter right now and saw this interesting "secret review" of In Sheep's Clothing that Joystiq made back when the episode was first released. http://www.joystiq.com/2014/05/27/the-wolf-among-us-in-sheeps-clothing-secret-review/

Its sort of like an entry in Snow White's diary or something:

My jacket is ruined. Isn't that a stupid thing to be thinking about? But I can't get it out of my mind. There was just so much blood ... I didn't even notice how much until Bigby was put back together. I wonder how many more jackets I'll ruin before this is all over.

I don't know how this all happened. It's not like the Homelands were safe, but at least there we knew the rules. We understood who was who and why they did the things they did, but here ... I don't feel like I know anything anymore. I thought once we found Crane, everything would be clear, but every time it seems like we're getting closer to an answer, the path twists and we're even further away from knowing anything. Which is appropriate for The Crooked Man, I guess. I don't know. I'm so tired.

We saw her again, Bloody Mary. She chills me to the very bone. All she has to do is say a few words, and she ... I don't know. She just demands you notice her. You can't look away. I've seen a lot of evil, but I don't think I've seen anyone like her. She terrifies me.

I'm trying to keep it all together, keep everyone safe, but I'm not sure I know how. Bigby isn't helping. Doesn't he understand that Fables like Colin and Toad would be safer at the farm? What does he think is going to happen if some Mundy spots a giant talking pig walking around? It doesn't matter if they don't like it. Rules are there for a reason. Why does everything have to be a fight?

Of course, when they've got an example like Bigby walking around, it's small wonder they don't think the rules matter. He's the Sheriff, but that doesn't stop him from letting his wolf out whenever he feels like it. I saw The Woodsman earlier – he was telling me about the "nice dust-up" Bigby got into at The Lucky Pawn. I didn't get many of the details, except that Woody was quite impressed by it. Well, great, I'm really glad that Bigby is getting so good at fighting Fables that he put on a thrilling show that looked like one of those awful movies Mundys like. That's just great. He's the SHERIFF. He's supposed to be keeping the peace, not getting himself torn to pieces.

I can't help feeling like we've failed. All of us. Fables shouldn't be in debt to someone like The Crooked Man, or end up like Narissa. Or poor Faith and Lily. How did I not see all of this happening all around me? Maybe I didn't want to see. I don't know. So many Fables are becoming lost. I keep thinking, if I just hold on a little tighter, just make the walls a little stronger, just get everyone to follow the rules, it'll all work out. Forget happily ever after, how about a day with no bloodshed? Is that so much to hope for?

It's all moving so fast now. Everything that's happened – Faith, Lily, Crane, the mirror, the glamours, the ribbons, Bloody Mary, The Crooked Man – has all led to one door. Bigby left a while ago to go find it. He's not back yet. I guess this will all be over soon, one way or the other. All I can do now is wait.

The waiting is terrible.

Thought it was interesting.

  • That is damn interesting. When Snow mention about making the walls a little strong and she hold herself tighter, it is certainly foreshadowing her attitude in the first issue of the comic.

  • This should've been a dramatic trailer for Ep 4!

  • Yeah, I read that when Telltale retweeted it. They did a good job at capturing the nuances of the writing and character motivations for that episode, which is quite impressive given how strong the writing for Wolf Among Us was overall.
