Menu is cut off in 1280x1024

I'm running GoT in 1280x1024 on a 19" 5:4 monitor. The game itself is ok. But the startmenu is cut off on both sides. I can go down to 1280x960 and the menu is shown correctly. But in the game itself the graphics seem stretched. Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Is there a solution to this? Plz help!

Yes of course. But what's the point? 800x600 is the same ratio as 1280x960. Like I said, the menu ist ok then, but ingame the graphics are stretched. This should not happen at all, because 1280x1024 is the native resolution for my screen.

Oh, I see! Sorry, it's no 4:3 monitor like I said but a 19" with 5:4 ratio. A rather conventional device so.

    I just corrected my post.

I now measured out the highlight-circles. In 1280x960 e.g. it's no longer a circle, but a clear ellipsoid! So it's no subjective impression: The game IS stretched when I change to any other resolution than 1280x1024.

But worse: In castle black I noticed, that also ingame, the screen is cut off a bit on both sides. I can make Tuttle walk out of the screen without triggering a change in cameraperspective!

This is really annoying! No one any idea? Am I really the only one experiencing this problem??

  • And much more weird: When I make a screenshot in 1280x960 and look at in a photosoftware ... it isn't longer stretched! The circle is a circle, the ratio is ok! I'm speechless!

Can you please clarify if you are playing in Windowed Mode, or Full Screen Mode? If your monitor's native resolution is 1280x1024, you can also try switching the game to Windowed Mode either from in-game, or by opening the game, and using the shortcut (Alt+Enter for PC, Command+F for Mac), then change the game's resolution to match your monitor's native resolution, and you should be able to play with the game's window stretched to the edges of the monitor without having any stretching issues.

  • I was playing in Full Screen Mode. So thank You for this hint.
For me the problem resolved itself, because I now have a new monitor in 16:9. :-)
