Please Help! Episode 2 Won't Download
Hi, there! I bought Game of Thrones directly from the Telltale Games website for my Mac. When opening the game today, I was asked to install a patch, which I did. Afterwards, I re-opened the game to play Episode 2. When I went to the Play menu, it still said "Episode 2 Coming Soon". When I went to the Episodes menu, it still said the same thing. I tried re-downloading the game from my Telltale Games account. On my account, it said that my download would include Episode 1 and Episode 2, but when I downloaded and opened up the game, it still said "Episode 2 Coming Soon". I tried copying my game file to a second save file to see if that would work, but it did not. I'm from the EST time zone, if that helps.
I also tried to run through the GOT Support Tool so that I could give you more information, but when trying to open it, I got a message that said, "“GOT_create_support_data.sh.command” can’t be opened because Safari is not allowed to open documents in Terminal." Sorry if this lack of information is an inconvenience.
Thank you so much for helping me! Have a nice day!
UPDATE
I did find a solution that I described below in the comments, except this solution would have you re-download the game and replay Episode 1. If you're eager enough, I totally suggest it and it's worth it. Also, read my reply to my "instructions" comment, because it has an important edit that you'll want to read that would save you time (I had one theory, but had to correct myself due to the unexpected results). If you want to wait for Telltale Games to respond, feel free. I will post with new advice if I hear about any other solutions to this problem. Have a nice day!

I am in the same situation. Can someone reach out to us please?
Hello, I am in the exactly same situation also. Please please help us, we're all dying to play!
Also in the same situation. Help would be nice.
I'm having the same issue. This has to be resolved, using Yosemite right now, seem to have nothing but issues with stability and accessibility with this season pass.
For the record, I have followed all of the steps requested, nothing works, still can't get Episode 2.
I'm having the exact same problem. Hope to see a solution soon.
Obviously so many of us are having the exact same issue. Hopefully there will be a solution soon!!
Okay this may help at least some of you (I hope). I'm on Windows 8 by the way. So basically I uninstalled the game, went to my telltale account and downloaded it again. There was a popup during the download because I already had a GoT folder (uninstalling the game didn't delete the folder itself), but I let it download the new game into this folder anyway and that was fine. I then went to play the game only to find that episode 2 still said 'purchased but not downloaded' underneath. I received no prompt to download patch, so I downloaded it using this link: http://cdn.telltalegames.com/downloads/gameofthrones/pc/v62.00/GameOfThrones_patch_1.0.3.2.exe
Oh and this time I made sure that the internet wasn't running in the background during installation...if that made any difference who knows. Once the patch file had downloaded, I opened up the game again. and clicked on episode 2, and this time a pop-up came up and it started downloading the episode. This took FOREVER (well about 40 minutes), but once it was done I finally had episode 2!
Thanks soph219 but we are all having this issue on Yosmite. I just tried this and its the same issue, a lot of wasted time for nothing if you have a Mac
Hey, guys! I have a Mac and I got it to work! This may be a little confusing so just deal with me.
I don't know how the game runs yet because I just saw that the download worked and wanted to update this forum as soon as possible so all you eager fans can play, as well! Let me know if this process works for you, and sorry that it's a lengthy one. Have fun!
It didn't transfer my choices. You guys can try it with the flash drive, but if you don't feel like trying it, just delete the Game of Thrones folder from the Telltale Games folder I talked about, then delete and re-download the game. This will delete everything you saved, but it will allow you to play Episode 2. So if you're willing to replay Episode 1, then I suggest this route. I was hoping to avoid this, since I had to do this same thing with the first four episodes of The Walking Dead Season 2, but hey, hopefully they have it fixed for future episodes. Good luck guys!
same here episode 2 won't download says coming soon
The Same situation... I can't download the second episode... they say coming soon. Just make a direct download for Mac or something else with the second episode and try to fix that bug.
thanks Beanerzz but the Telltale Games folder does not exist in Mac Yosemite.
Any other suggestions?
honestly, i deleted mine from the library as described above and then downloaded a new one and I had to play through episode one again but I am playing episode 2 now without any issue
I had difficulty finding the folder the first time, myself, when trying to do this. Are you sure that you're finding the folder through the procedure I described above? Because you can't just search the folder on its own. I've tried. You have to do it through the steps I've described. It's a pain, I know, but it works if you do it right. Besides that, I don't have any other suggestions that I can think of. Everything else people usually say you should do (re-start your computer, re-download and re-open the game) didn't work for me for this game.
By the way, just finished Episode 2 and I didn't have problems except for very minor glitches that go away if you wait patiently (I also have a Mac that's at least five years old so my Mac always bugs out with Telltale Games and other applications). However, I did have to replay Episode 1 due to what I described earlier. Still, the process is worth it if you're willing to sit through Episode 1 another time.
same problem here and i really do not want to download the game again and play through episode one again!! telltale has to fix this! what happens with next next episodes? do we have to play it all over again then?!?
I'm having the same problem. Can't somebody from Tell Tale please help?
I don't think so. This, I believe, is very similar to what I experienced with The Walking Dead Season 2, except the source of the problem is different. For The Walking Dead Season 2, I was able to play fine up until Episode Four and I had filled up all my save files. Then, one day when I randomly wanted to replay Episode 4 again, the menu kept freezing. Telltale told me it had to do with the fact that I was using all my save files, and that a small group of people also experienced this problem. Their suggestion was to delete the game and sadly replay everything.
Now I know this isn't the cause of our current issue. I heard the cause may be that the game is having difficulty connecting to our accounts/internet and therefore is not receiving the new Episode, but when we delete the game and re-download it, it works for reasons that I don't know. But regardless, the technique I suggested (minus the whole stuff about the flash drive) helped me to re-download both games and solve both issues.
However, although it's not a preferable way to solve the situation, it only happened to me once and then the problem was solved and it never returned (hopefully that might reassure you). I'm hoping that it'll be the same, now, especially because this method has worked so well for me in the past and never failed. Really, it's worth replaying to get to Episode 2. I played Episode 2 last night and I'm about to play it again because it was so good. Also, if you don't care about your previous choices, you can play straight to Episode 2 and the game automatically randomizes choices for you. That way, you don't have to play Episode 1 again. I'm pretty sure all of Telltale's games do this.
By the way, Telltale also has a history of delayed Mac releases. For TWD, I waited one to three days after Episode 2 was released before the "Coming Soon" disappeared and I was allowed to download it. For Tales from the Borderlands, the Mac version wasn't released until a week and a half after the initial release date, whereas for PC it released on time (usually both versions come out on the same day).
Overall, I don't believe this will be a problem in the future. I also think Telltale Games is working on the problem, now. It takes time to fix these things, and they want to make sure that they have a concrete solution before announcing it, so they can help as many people as they can at once (like the same way they wait to announce release dates so close to the actual date, instead of all of them way in advanced). This is probably just a small problem that's taking longer to solve (and they're also probably trying to avoid telling everyone to delete and re-download their games, because it's definitely a bummer). This has happened in the past, too. However, Telltale always responds in due time and I'm sure they will get back to us soon. They constantly check these forums. However, re-downloading the game is definitely worth it. If you want, I believe they also have a support email that you can try. I don't remember what it is, though.
I'm sorry I don't have any more answers for you. I'm just a fellow player, not a Telltale Games staff member or Forum Moderator. Hopefully, the game works for you soon!
Thank you! Followed the steps (apart from the flash drive as I dont mind playing episode one again) and i've now downloaded episode 2 x
thanks for your answer!! are you sure you're not working at telltale? ;-))
Same problem here. Please help us Tell Tale!
Ahaha I wish! I'm just happy to help!
Same problem as mentioned above, very frustrating and no info from tell tale. Come on, I really like your previous products but this is not ok.
I sincerely apologize for the delayed response. We are aware of the issue, and are currently working on a fix to resolve the issue. Unfortunately I do not have any updates on the resolution, and hope to have more information in the near future.
