Dialogue problems (went silent)

So yeah, there's something very weird wrong with the game on my PS4. I played the first episode, and after the scene at the farm where gared kills the whitehalls, his dialogue got muted. Like no sound whatsoever when he spoke. Rest of the sounds, the music and the dialogue from the other characters sounded normal (except for one brief scene in Mira's story). It was annoying, but since the rest of the game I had no problems, I just played thru the first ep. Then, in the "next on GoT" montage most of the character dialogue was muted, not just Gared.

Now, I downloaded EP2 hoping that whatever had been the issue, it had been patched. No such luck, now when I started it, all dialogue was silent. Everything else seemed to work, sound effects and music. I played until the lost legion guys or whatever came into the room and their leader's dialogue was audible. So it seems to be the exact same bug, with some of the characters being mute and some not. I have no idea what's causing this. I can't and I won't play the game without audible dialogue, so please fix asap whatever might be causing it. Seems I'm not the only one affected.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify if you started downloading the game, and immediately started the game and started playing before the download of the game was complete? What you are experiencing is usually due to an incomplete or corrupted download file. I recommend deleting Episode 2 from your PS4, and re-downloading it. Also, make sure to wait until it is fully installed onto your PS4 before starting the game, and you should not experience the issue again.

  • I am having the same issue - Episode 1 had Gareds vocals missing for about 80% of it. The 'Next On...' was 98% silence in terms of vocals and I'm a few minutes into Episode 2 and I can't stand trying to play with it all missing..

I read there were some issues with surround sound peripherals so i unplugged my Tiamat headphones (are set as primary, but switch it over to speakers via Tiamat's buttons) and went straight through speakers this time and no change.

I am playing on PC, downloaded via Steam. Please fix!

If you are/were using any sound devices with surround sound capabilities, and your audio is still set in that mode, please try changing your sound output to Stereo (Left and Right) then restart the game, and see if you are then able to hear the game's sound successfully.
