I would also like to know the european wiiware-releasedate. I would prefer to play the game on the wii but i don't think i can bear the extra wait if there is one ;)

It will take longer to release and will VERY LIKELY cost more, also, it is possible they release a lower quality version in order for it to FIT the 40mb limit WiiWare games have.

I wouldn't get the Wii version, only if my PC was really crappy

Also, I'd say there's next to no chance for an update being released that grants additional languages (especially for WiiWare). If an additional language version is made you'd have to purchase it again.

Hmmm that's some valid points, a shame really as i looked forward to playing the episodes on the bigger screen from my couch. The language thing doesn't bother me though as i hoghly doubt they would ever translate it to swedish nor would i like them to. MI should be in english and with dom as guybrush

Is anyone from Telltale willing to give a rough estimate as to how much later the Wiiware version is going to be? I'm not expecting any dates, just are we talking within a week, within a month of the PC release?

The wait for July7th is going painfully slow and my rubbish PC means i have to wait longer, which i'm not bothered about-but i can see it getting extremely painful after July 7th when everyone is playing it and im checking Wii Shop every day!

They don't know when or how much. When they know they'll say. They have said the release date will be as close to the PC release date as possible.

considering we are less than 2weeks away from release, surely they have some idea. i know its a long shot and i dont expect a response but the thought of waiting a month checking Wiiware every day with no monkey island is killing me! maybe i'll be pleasantly surprised if 'as close as possible' means a week or 2. Seriously considering investing in a new PC before July 7th!

With Nintendo America, you can never know for sure.
Last year, Hudson Soft announced the Monday release of some virtual console games on a Friday (I think they did it on two different Fridays) and those games did not get released as scheduled.
July 7 being a Tuesday, I assume Telltale would probably like the European release to be on July 10 and the US release on July 13, but it's really up to Nintendo...

Nintendo of America is known to hold off on WiiWare releases to suit their own schedule and not to release multiple big name titles on the same day. Also, it should be noted that NoA releases WiiWare titles on Mondays so it can't come out till at least the 13th in the U.S.

If the world were a logical and reasonable place, then we would likely have a good idea as to when the game will come out for the wii. Unfortunately, if the world were a logical and reasonable place, we wouldn't have had to wait this many years for a new Monkey game.

In short, we really just don't know. You have no idea how much I wish we did, but we don't.

That's my whole point. If they did then we'd know. Because they'd tell us right away! You wouldn't have to ask. Why would they hold such information from us?

we just don't have a solid date yet -- this is due to us being an independent developer with limited resources, getting through testing, working with Nintendo, all of that. it's coming along nicely and you won't have to wait too long after the PC.

We're trying to keep the WiiWare date as close to the PC date as possible, but we don't know quite when it will be. We'll announce the WiiWare date as soon as we know! We also don't know the price for sure, but Strong Bad episodes were 1,000 points.

fair play, thats put it into perspective. 9years waiting for a new MI, and I cant wait a few weeks/month for a console release. Sounds pathetic really, ill sit tight! Being impatient as usual. Been replaying Grim Fandango for the first time in 10years, that'll keep me busy for a while:D

Well, waiting 9 years is rather easy - it's always the second 9 years that really kill you from the inside... :D

I don't know much about how the WiiWare release process works--I imagine there's some kind of testing/verification that has to be done by Nintendo before they will release something onto their console. I'm not sure if this is done by the developers or not. Any Telltale folks able/willing to say at this point if the build of the Wii version has been approved by Nintendo yet? Is it a matter of them finishing the testing, or just of them putting it on their release calendar officially?

I already played it on PC, but I'm just curious. Plus it might be fun to replay from my couch.
