Fiona felt a bit dizzy and held her head in her hands trying to get back to normal. What had happened? She looked at Rhys between the fingers covering her face and he seemed a bit smug and satisfied with himself. And just like that, it clicked on her mind.
Had he kissed her?
He had, hadn´t he? Of course he had. It was easy to trick her dazed self for a minute into pretending that it hadn´t happened but it was pointless to continue.
"Did you just...?"
Rhys shrugged.
"Speechless for once? I knew I had something I could use against you."
She suddenly felt insulted. So he just went around kissing people to shut them up? She felt stupid for thinking for even one second that he might have meant anything by it and slapped him across the face.
"Ow!" he yelped, "What the hell, Fiona?!"
"Don´t you ever do something like that again. Ever. Everyone has their fucking limits and you´re pushing your luck making fun of me like this."
"Making fu- Making fun of you? What?"
She growled at him and he suddenly felt like he´d made a huge mistake.
"You don´t kiss people to shut them up when you´re angry. I don´t know what kind of crap you Hyperions do to deal with others but I doubt that happens there or anywhere else in the damn universe. You´re an asshole. Don´t play with something like this. Don´t play with people like this."
Rhys felt like he was going to have a heart attack. Was she disappointed? He really couldn´t tell. He noticed his hands were shaking; from whether it was fear or anxiety he didn´t know but he decided to risk talking anyway. It couldn´t get any worse than this.
"Listen," he started, "I don´t go around kissing people, okay?"
"You just did."
"I didn´t go around kissing people! I kissed you! That´s it!"
She turned away but he could tell it was because her face had gotten a light shade of pink and grinned to himself. He could do this, couldn´t he? He just had to be honest.
"So you..." he heard her mutter, "I mean, why did you...?"
"Because it´s you."
Now she was completly red and he knew he´d won (for once).
"Forgive me?"
She meekly nodded and mumbled an almost inaudible ´yeah´.
"Aw," he started, "now I have my own special way of shutting you up, huh?"
She turned back to face him sporting a determined look on her face that, from where he was sitting looking up at her, looked rather intimidating.
"Oh, believe me," he heard her say, "this goes both ways now."
