iOS Version Lag?

I play TftB on my iPod Touch. It's the most recent version and it runs iOS8. I didn't have problems with Episode 1, but Episode 2 is unbearably laggy. There's a huge pause after each major gameplay moment. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm playing on a Kindle Fire HDX 7.0 and I'm having the same problem. I hope they fix it soon :)

  • Yeah, I have it on my Macbook and on my iPhone and playing it on my phone is the biggest pain in the ass. The first episode was fine, but Atlas Mugged seems to freeze up during every scene transition.

  • Ugh! Well, I'm sorta glad that others are having the same problem. Hopefully that gets sorted out quickly. Thankfully, I'll have that Claptrap DLC in Borderlands TPS to keep me occupied for awhile.

I apologize for any difficulties caused by this. If you are experiencing any performance issues during gameplay on an iOS device, please close the game and all other applications running in the background. This should free up necessary system resources. (To close an app running in the background on iOS 6 and before: double tap the home button to make all running apps appear at the bottom of the screen, hold down on an app you wish to close and red buttons will appear, tap the red buttons to close the apps. If on iOS 7/8, double tap the home button and swipe up on the open apps to close them) Also, please turn off your iOS device for at least three minutes before attempting to play the game again. This will allow the device’s cache to clear.

Then after restarting your device, please reset the WiFi by turning the WiFi Settings Off, and back On again. Then try starting the game application again, and see if you are able to successfully play without any performance issues.

@david_ayy Please note that while the iPod Touch 5th Gen can run the game, we recommend playing on an iPhone 5 or higher. The iPod Touch does not meet the same system specifications as the iPhone 5 in both processing speed, and RAM, and may experience performance issues such as the ones you are describing. If my above suggestion does not resolve your issue, I would have to recommend either playing on an iOS device that is running above the minimum system requirements, or contacting Apple Support for further assistance, or a refund.

@AlfMusic If you are experiencing this on a Kindle device, please try force closing any and all applications that are open and running on your Kindle device. To do this, please swipe down from the top of the screen and tap More, then tap Settings, Applications, Installed Applications, and make sure to tap Filter by Running Applications. Then force close any applications that are currently open and running on your device. After they are closed, turn your Kindle off for 5 minutes to allow the device’s cache to clear, then turn it back on and start the application again, and the performance of the game should improve.
