Severe Freezing issue episode 2

I am having a severe issue with episode 2 continuously freezing for no reason at all, even in scenes that run really smoothly. For example, in the scene where Rhys first meets Jack, the game freezes almost every time the camera angle changes for more than 30 seconds at a time. This doesn't make sense as it runs easially at 60fps when not freezing. Its more understandable in the scene where they are being chased by a rank hive and the frame rate is reduced, but it appears to be more stable here even though it is clearly struggling. The freezing seems quite regular no matter if the game is lagging or it is running smooth. I'm running the game on an iPod touch 5, which isn't a powerful device, but episode one ran so much better and didn't have these issues. I've checked the hardware usage whilst running EP 2 and the CPU is at 77% and the ram is at 80%. My device is clearly not stressing out, it appears to be a software issue in the game. :(
Please repair the freezing issue, and thanks for being so prompt with fixing the previous iOS issues :)

It's the exact same problem I have on my Kindle Fire HDX 7.0.

@robdog_42 I apologize for any difficulties caused by this. If you are experiencing any performance issues during gameplay on an iOS device, please close the game and all other applications running in the background. This should free up necessary system resources. (To close an app running in the background on iOS 6 and before: double tap the home button to make all running apps appear at the bottom of the screen, hold down on an app you wish to close and red buttons will appear, tap the red buttons to close the apps. If on iOS 7/8, double tap the home button and swipe up on the open apps to close them) Also, please turn off your iOS device for at least three minutes before attempting to play the game again. This will allow the device’s cache to clear.

Then after restarting your device, please reset the WiFi by turning the WiFi Settings Off, and back On again. Then try starting the game application again, and see if you are able to successfully play without performance issues.

Please note that while the iPod Touch 5th Gen can run the game, we recommend playing on an iPhone 5 or higher. The iPod Touch does not meet the same system specifications as the iPhone 5 in both processing speed, and RAM, and may experience performance issues such as the ones you are describing. If my above suggestion does not resolve your issue, I would have to recommend either playing on an iOS device that is running above the minimum system requirements, or contacting Apple Support for further assistance, or a refund.

  • @TelltaleMike I do understand that the iPod isn't quite up to the job of running the game, however I've also tried the game on an iPhone 6 and noticed that it also has freezing issues, not as bad though, but it tends to freeze in exactly the same place as is does on the iPod. It appears that whenever handsome jack appears the game will lock up for a few seconds, even on a more capable device.
I appreciate the performance improvement tips, it did help increase the frame rate a bit. thanks
