Episode 3 - Sound Problem

In Episode 3:The Sword in the Darkness there is no sound

  • I get some sound but not everything. In the first scene I could hear the protagonists voices but the enemies, music, and noise from things like weapons were all missing

    If you are experiencing any audio issues during the episode, this may be caused by an incomplete or corrupted download file from the Microsoft servers. I recommend try deleting and re-downloading the episode from the Xbox Marketplace, and make sure that the game is updated to the latest version. Then see if your audio issues are resolved.

  • I was able to hear about half the audio track, but could not hear things like swords clashing or really anything other than the grunts of the characters and their lines. Some lines of dialogue would start and then restart half way through. Anytime i had complete control over Asher's leg movement in the beginning i could hear all the ambient noises, but once it transitioned to the action sequences i experiences the above problems, i went through the opening and watched some of what Gared was doing before i stopping the game due to the same audio issues.

  • I experienced the same issues and was very mad that i had to go delete this episode and reinstall it to see if the problem is fixed.

  • I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times but the audio problem still persists for me as well. Main character voices are fine but other sounds like walking, weapons and the Dragon can't be heard. I'm playing from the US on the xbox one.

  • Uninstall/Reinstall worked for me as well. Usually with those types of solutions it never works for me, mais this time it did.

    My apologies, I have passed the extra information along to the team for further investigation. Can you please clarify if you experience the same issue if you restart the episode right after having the issue?

    Can you please clarify if the sound issue still occurs after restarting the episode from the beginning, immediately after you experience the issue?

    Thread: Episode 3 sound bug.


    I can't hear some things in episode 3. I have tried restarting from the beginning and re-downloading the episode but it didn't work please help.

    -Edit I fixed it by power cycling my xbox one.

  • The sound dropped out for me when I got to the cave. Uninstalled then reinstalled the episode and restarted it. This worked for me.

For anyone else experiencing this issue that was unable to resolve it by either restarting their console/computer or uninstalling and reinstalling, please note that we are currently working on a resolution for the issue, and hope to have more information in the near future.

  • I'm having the same issue as JaYsKi87 is having. I got to the cave and I can hear characters talking but the sound effects are gone. The dragon makes no sound at all. I'm on Xbox One. I'm going to try to uninstall and then reinstall and see if that helps.

    If you are currently playing on an Xbox One, and are experiencing sound issues, please try hard resetting your console by holding the power button down for 10 seconds. Then start the game again and you should not experience the issue anymore. If you still experience the issue, please note that we are currently working on a resolution for the issue, and hope to have more information in the near future.

  • I've had the exact same problem; loosing everything but character dialogue in the cave. I'll try deleting & re-installing the episode & will report back
