No Save File (PC/Steam)

I tried to start up episode 2 today but it said I had no save files, I thought it was possible I had deleted them or something (and I wanted a refresher on the story) so I started up a new game, got to the first switch to Fiona and then took a break.

I went back in an it has no save file for me, I am also unable to change the name of any of the save files (though that may because they are all empty files)

I followed all the instructions I saw posted in this discussion https://www.telltalegames.com/support/discussion/92794/save-file-gone-pc-steam
but no amount of verifying the cache has helped and I had the same problem after uninstalling and reinstalling the game completely

here is the file created by the TFTB Support Tool https://www.sendspace.com/file/qnsc9w

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

  • I've had the same issues you have described. If we both have the same problem your game might be unplayable if you grab some money with Fiona. I think it might be a rare bug that I believe requires patching for the game to work properly. Here's the link to my discussion with TelltaleMike, hopefully this gets fixed soon!

@Kwoaru After looking over your Support Tool information, I can see your save files in your save file directory. If you are currently not seeing them in-game, and you have already tried Verifying your Game Cache and reinstalling the game, there may be an issue with your save file directory itself. I will make sure to pass the extra information along to the team to look further into the issue.

@Kwoaru If you are still affected by this issue, could you please zip the 'Tales From The Borderlands' folder from the following directory:

    C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Telltale Games\

and upload it to a file hosting website? I could then download it and pass it along to the team for further investigation into the root cause of the issue. You can use the same process as the Support Tool uploading, then copy and paste the download link. Thank you in advance if you are able to help out. (You can also send the download link to the files in a Private Message to me if you rather.)
