Random Crashes, not saving
I have been getting random crashes, some as I launch the game, other as I play the game. Typically when it crashes all progress is lost. Even the names of the saved games has been lost. Options and changes to the games settings were lost. Here is the Support data zip link https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxli5AUYYRF2cHVGSWgtNi14STQ/view?usp=sharing

After looking over your Support Tool information, it appears that you have the game installed to your Y:\ drive, while the save file directory is installed to the default file path (C:\ drive). This will cause issues when the game attempts to save/load files from the save file directory, such as crashing, or performance issues. I recommend re-installing the game to your C:\ drive, and you should not experience these issues anymore.
I do not want it installed on my C:\ drive. I want all my games in my Y:\ drive. My C:\ drive is for Windows only. How can the save directory be changed to the Y:\ drive so this issue can be resolved?
You can try recreating the exact file directory on your Y:\ drive (Y:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Telltale Games\Game of Thrones), then paste your save files inside the \Game of Thrones\ folder on your Y:\ drive, then restart the game, and see if your save files are able to be read from there. Unfortunately if this doesn't work, and a new save directory is created on your C:\ drive, you may not be able to have your saves on your Y:\ drive.
Recently I have also been getting an error saying my account is not authorized to play this game, which is not true, I purchased it on Steam. The game is still crashing to desktop more than it is playing. The crashing has been happening since before I moved the mentioned save files. I have gone back to check and so far a new save file has not been created on the C:\ drive, but that could be because I haven't made it to the main menu of the game since the early evening yesterday.
Can you please clarify if your Y:\ drive is located internally in your computer, or through a USB port?
Also, if you are receiving a Telltale Games Log In pop up right when starting the game, please close out of the game, and restart your Steam Client.(You should not receive a Telltale Games Log In window pop up message) Then after Steam has finished opening, click Play on the game again, and before you click on the 'Click To Continue' screen, try waiting a few minutes before clicking to continue. You should then not experience the issue again.
Internally, Sata 3.0 drive on a sata 3.0 Sata port. EVGA X79 classified mobo. The drive is a Samsung 850 EVO 500gb drive.
Even after making it past the Telltale pop up issue, the game crashes before ever getting to the main menu. I still have not been able to play the game for a couple days now.
Today I cannot make it past that telltale pop up. Even after restarting steam, and restarting my computer. Yesterday I could at least get to a loading screen before it crashed.
Can you please clarify what drive you have your Steam Client currently installed to? Is it your C:\ drive, or a secondary drive?
I have steam folders on several drives, but Steam itself is installed on my / drive called Corsair. Installed in a folder called Steam Primary.
Having similar issues. Running two drives not sure exactly where save games are located. and may i ask for more in depth information on your fix? here is GOT support Tool data: https://www.sendspace.com/file/mszn1b
My apologies, unfortunately our game is not recommended to run across multiple drives/directories, I recommend either try installing both the game and an iteration of Steam on your default drive, or contacting Steam Support for more suggestions on how to try running the game from other/multiple drives/directories successfully.
After looking over your Support Tool information, it appears that your save files are not in your Profile folder directory. The default file path for save files is
C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Telltale Games\Game of Thrones\
Unfortunately if your Profile folder is on your C:\ drive, and your saves are located on your \ drive, they may not be able to be read in-game. We have had reports of players that have the game installed to secondary directories experience crashing, and saves not being found. I recommend try installing both the game and an iteration of Steam on your default drive (C:\ drive) then move your save file 'Game of Thrones' folder currently located in
\Documents\Telltale Games\Game of Thrones\
to the file directory I mentioned above, and you should be able to run the game, and find your save files successfully.
Problem is, C drive is a 90gb SSD for the OS only and windows eats it all. I can never clear up more than a gb or two on it at any time. I made a folder and am installing it now, but not sure it will work. Seems like shoddy programming to make a game that cannot load from files on a different drive.
Attempting to install on C:\ and trying to ask steam for help is a waste of time they would send me back to you.
My apologies, this comment was meant for @Edwans_12 to resolve his particular issue.
Problem still not solved. The last solution only got me a couple days of play time and now the game is not working again. Just like the last time it played fine for a couple days after install, and then crashed mid game and now it will not come back.
Problem still not solved. Uninstalled and deleted all my old saves, and the game then fully reinstalled it on my C:\ drive, and the game worked fine for about a week again, then it stopped again. Now it is back to crashing after the GoT splash screen/loading screen that takes you to the main menu.
My apologies, if you are still experiencing issues running the game after installing it to your C:\ drive, I am out of potential solutions, and recommend that you contact/email our Support Staff at Support@Telltalegames.com, and they will be able to assist you further with your issue. Please make sure to include all of the steps you have tried so far, and if possible, please run the Support Tool again with your new setup, and attach it to the email to support.
