Tales of Monkey Island DVD with added Features?

edited December 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
Does anybody know if the Bonus DVD that we will all be recieving at the end of the 5 episodes, will contain extra bonus material, like a making of, a short movie etc...or is it just going to be the 5 games only?

i'm pretty sure that there will be some bonus content on the disc, just like on the sam & max discs and on the sbcg4ac disc.... but imho it's to soon for telltale to say exactly what will be on disc and what will not...

A Making Of... would be really nice!:D

So, I hope you guys filmed Ron Gilbert's visit!

Commentary, maybe even have Dominic involved in that for his own views which would be interesting.

Would be even great to have a documentary covering the history of Monkey Island so far as a way to celebrate the series 20th Anniversary.

I bet Dominic would agree to do an actor's commentary! An own commentary track just for him... please, PLEASE!!

The "Ask Dominic Armato" thread has kind of shown that he's an extremely funny and dedicated individual. I'd hate to put more pressure on the guy than this project already has...

....but, on the other hand, it would be incredibly awesome. :D

    I'd buy seven.

...OK, I would just really like it.

Along with the TOMI game they have said that the Original "Seceret of Monkey Island" (remasterd and enhanced graphics) will be included.

While I bet animated bloopers would be too much to ask for (though I really wish it would happen) I'd love to have some voice-acting bloopers!

I would like to see the source of this. Because I don't think Lucas Arts will just let Telltale distribute their game for free.

There were actually 2 animation bloopers in the pre-order-forum.

I don't think we said that.

That one is actually in the game -- that's how Guybrush mutates so his body doesn't get in the way when you see his hands holding the treasure map from first person view. We did almost the same thing to Strong Bad towards the end of SBCG4AP ep 5.

Wow, I think I'm going to feel a little guilty every time I have Guybrush look at a map from now on.

Winslow likes it when Guybrush looks and points at maps.

...I feel like that implies something about Winslow, but I don't really want to think further into it...

How can an actor's commentary work in a game? It's not just like sitting through a movie.

Their Sam and Max DVDs had all the cutscenes and a few bits of gameplay footage edited together so you could watch it. The first season had three commentary tracks, and the second had(I think) two.

As I said in some other similar thread, they can add all the extra stuff they want to the DVD. But subtitled, please.
  • edited December 2009
First off, not everyone will be getting the DVD. It's an optional extra (costs about £5 ($9 i think?) Postage)

Second, i think the sort of stuff we may see is things like concept art, interviews and the lark. Maybe even a series history type thing (including a brief synopsis of the fake MI5, with the giant walrus, that would be good) Also, wasn't there a weird video of Strongbad walking round the TTG office on the DVD? I don't own it, but i saw it on youtube here.

Also, expect any major bugs to be fixed.

I don't have the DVD, but there's a 3 part video of that on TTG's Video page (see navigation bar above).

Yeah, thats where i first saw it. I assumed they put it on the DVD aswell.

It is only the postage we have to pay, but the DVD itself is free.

    When will it come out?

"Not by Christmas, But Otherwise, No Comment" was the only estimate from Telltale that I've seen. "A couple/A few months" would be my non-committal, somewhat broad guess.

I never really went for the whole concept art on DVD's thing. I would if they just put the high-res files on the DVD, but usually you have to browse concept art though a menu on the DVD, which is kind of awkward and only in DVD resolution. You can often zoom in and such, but it's not as good as just a really high-res jpeg or something.

Commentaries, though, like on the Sam & Max DVD, are a must have.

ARGH! I really, really hate seeing things like that. I can't really explain it, but they freak me out. It's sort of like a phobia.

Great, now I'll be scared to look at maps just in case some bug moves the camera and I actually see Guybrush.

If you're going to put extras like that on the DVD, please please please with sugar on top make it clear where they are so I (and others -I'm sure I'm not alone) will be able to avoid them! :)

I know, but i always include Postage when i look at prices. I was being conservative with that price (i'm sure it's between £3.50 and £5)

Any way we can have the "I wonder what happens..." movies on the DVD?
  • edited December 2009

DVD easter eggs are never hard to find if they're there!

I'm not asking for "hard to find", just warnings... Like "Congratulations for finding this easter egg, but if you click "OK" below you're going to see some graphical wrongness".
    Please? :(
