A question about facial expressions

Now from what little experiences I have with Minecraft, the figures don't have the best facial expressions.

One of my concerns about this game that the characters won't be able to express themselves properly. One of the reasons I love TWD, TWAU, Tales and GOT it is because all of the characters are wonderfully expressive with their facials. It makes them feel human and that they are proper characters. If the characters in Minecraft doesn't have expressive facial expressions, I fear that I will have a hard time connecting with them.

Could be that it won't be a concern and it doesn't matter, but I just want to point it out. You are free to prove me wrong by posting images.

If characters don't have facial expressions, I imagine they might compensate with more exaggerated body movements and physical action. Granted, that's assuming they use the exact same Minecraft artstyle and not an interpretation of it.

Since that small game that came with the announcement says that "This thing won't look exactly like Minecraft, but it will feel authentic in its own special way.", I'd assume that means they're using an art style that's a bit different, perhaps in the ways of Minecraft animations like this one:

Just like what Blind said. In seedlings episodes, the characters use physical movements instead of facial expressions

  • This is what I've been thinking (and telling people) from the start. This would be the best way for Telltale to do it, I reckon.
