Life is Strange, overrated pile of garbage, no offense to the people who like it.

  • It's not because some other company other than Telltale is making it, that's not the problem, the problem is the terrible writing, shitty dialogue, one dimensional or annoying characters, and, to me, the story so far has been more about high school drama then actually trying to figure out what happened to Rachel.

  • Gotta disagree there. It's gotten progressively better since the first episode and has improved on the character development of Max and Chloe and while there might be generic characters like Victoria etc., the writing has been very emotional and the ending of Chaos Theory struck as one of the most emotional moments in gaming.

  • I will agree that the ending of Chaos Theory is really good, and it was the strongest episode so far, but it begs the question of what the writers are going to do now? Most likely, we will spend most if not all of Episode 4 in this alternate timeline, leaving only one episode left to find out what happened to Rachel. Not to mention that, at this very moment, all of the choices people have made are basically not important as long as we are in this alternate timeline. And while the ending of the episode is very shocking, personally I can't say it's emotional since I have no positive feelings toward Chloe. If you like Chloe, then yes it can be very emotional, but I honestly just don't like her at all.

Like Kenny (at least in Season 1) I think she's sort of that character that's split. And while I can agree a bit of her hipster writing is a bit dumb- ish in the recent episodes she's become a better, more complex character with real emotions and depth and not just Max's hipster side kick like in Chrysalis while leaving a lot of her past, intentions and thoughts ambiguous

all of the choices people have made are basically not important as long as we are in this alternate timeline.

Who's really to say our choices won't show in some other form? Just because it's an AU doesn't mean they'll simply disregard our choices. I have almost as much faith in the writers than I did with Sean Vanaman and Chaos Theory ranks up there with Long Road Ahead (best Telltale episode imo)

I loaded this game Thinking, "Hey, It's gonna be another really Good FNaF game with good secrets and Good Jumpscares!". What I Got, was A 13 Hour, LITERALLY, 13 FUCKING HOUR, Festival of Bullshit and Rage. This game has so Many problems that it makes me want to VOMIT. This game was The shittiest game of all Time, and I'll explain why.

    1: The Gameplay.

So in the other games, It was Pretty Straight forward. Click the Camera, Close doors, Check lights, Etc. In The 3rd game however, There is No Possible way to tell what the fuck you're Doing. First off, We have a System Panel, You have to Reboot certain systems (Which is hard as shit) when they Go out. Second, We have the Camera, Which the quality is about as Good as a TV from the Fucking 60's. Then the Audio, which Lures SpringTrap to different areas of the Game. Now, This system wouldn't have been so Bad if Not for one thing.

    Alt text Alt text

THE SYSTEM REBOOT AND CAMERA SYSTEMS ARE ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE FUCKING ROOM! Who the fucking hell would have the Idea to do this?! This makes the Game so fucking impossible! Not to mention, While systems are Rebooting, You can't do anything! GOD DAMN! The Camera System is Fucking Weird as well, It's so dark, and Scribbly all the Damn time, So You'd have to be fucking God to figure it out.

    2: SpringTrap.

Now this asshole... Ugh... SpringTrap is the Main animatronic of FNaF 3. He is the Murderous Purple Man, trapped Inside of An Animatronic Suit. Pretty cool concept, But by the Time he shows up, You'll wish he didn't exist. SpringTrap makes his First appearance in Night 2, After the Phone Bro talks and Gives you the Phone Man's tapes. SpringTrap is an Incredibly frustrating Part of this Already Infuriating game, There's no way to tell where he is, or When he's Going to show up, and On Night 5, Luring him with the Audio becomes Nearly impossible.

He doesn't Make noise unlike the Previous animatronics, and Unlike the Previous ones, When he's at your Office, there is No possible way to Lure him back to the Other rooms. He won't leave, Making it Physically impossible to Continue Playing past that Point.

    Alt text

Not to mention, He'll always get into the Vents without warning, so even If he isn't Out side your Office, He can climb through the Vents and get you from Anywhere.

    Alt text

But worst Of all, He's about as Menacing as a Fucking Kitten. There is absolutely Nothing scary about him, and His Jumpscare makes me Fucking dissapointed.

    Alt text

    3: The Phantom Animatronics.

Alt text Alt text Alt text Alt text Alt text

Now I move on to Probably the Most annoying Aspect of the Game. The FUCKING PHANTOMS! These Fuckers Just couldn't stay dead huh? They just NEEDED to fucking come back one more time so Scott could grab more fucking Money? Listen, These guys are actually Creepy and Scary, But they piss me off so FUCKING much! Whenever they attack you, Your ventilation goes Out Instantly, Leaving plenty of Time for SpringTrap to get you, It's frustrating, and It's AWFUL.

In the end, The franchise is Good, But this game is an Abomination. Not to mention, The crazy Random Bullshit you have to do to get the good ending,

    Alt text

SERIOUSLY SCOTT?! HOW THE FUCK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW ABOUT A GOD DAMN WALL?! GAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!

Eh Hem... But Yeah, FNaF 3, Worst game ever Created.

People told me "wow if you liked GTA 4, you'll really like just cause"
within an hour i bought the game for $7, played it for 15 minutes, laughed at the wobbling squares that were supposed to be cars, glitched through the planet, then promptly returned to gamestop to refund it. Knowing full well that the two trips cost more than $7 in gas. Worth it.

  • They probably meant the second one, that one is really good, completely over-the-top and crazy you can shoot a gas tank, grapple onto it and use it as a rocket to launch you into the air, I don't know what the story is because I never bothered with it but if what you like is causing mayhem and maybe flying around with a parachute and a grappling hook that game is great, or you know going like crazy in a high speed chase jumping from car to car, great fun I don't think the first one had any of those things, well I mean it had the parachute but no grappling hook.

Max Payne 3, worst sequel ever, it gets everything wrong, I mean sure it's polished and it plays well enough but the tone of the story and character development is all wrong and so is the game design, I don't have time to elaborate right now because I have to run but I might have to edit it in later because I hate that piece of garbage that much and it's obvious that Rockstar had absolutely no idea what made Max Payne good in the first place, I really wish Remedy had done the MP3 that they left on Alan Wake as an easter egg instead, but you know Rockstar had the rights and they wanted to do it themselves even though it's obvious they weren't up to the task.

So what exactly is wrong with Max Payne 3:

    Game-play/Design:

    1. So let's start off by talking about the bullet dodge crash, since that is something terrible in Max Payne 3, why is it even here? It makes the game more realistic, sure but Max Payne wasn't supposed to be realistic it was styled as graphic novel and it's main influence was the movie Hard-Boiled neither of which are realistic things and is exactly what made you not care about your blatant defiance of the laws of physics, anyway besides it not fitting what is wrong with this? Well it breaks the flow of the combat greatly and severely decreases the usefulness of the bullet-dodge as now you have to be extra careful as to where to use it and good luck in not crashing with something that's outside your field of view, the way it was done before still required careful planning and strategic use while also punishing you for ineffective use but all without breaking the flow of the game or being excessively frustrating.

    2. The weapon carry limit, again some odd change that was probably made for the sake of realism, so how does this this hurt the game? Simple by only allowing you to carry 2 weapons the challenge of the game shifts from finding the way to optimally clear the room while taking the less damage possible to figuring out how you were supposed to clear the room with the weapons that are laying around since even if you save your favourite it'll probably run out of bullets, in any case this completely changes the dynamic of the game in a way that is in my opinion way more frustrating and annoying, plus the fact that you cannot holster 2 single handed weapons as your alt is pretty stupid, if you want to use a machine-gun or a shotgun for a bit you're going to have to drop one of your weapons if you were dual wielding something.

    3. The extremely directed design, where Max Payne 1 & 2 were all about dropping you into an action scene and letting you do it however you wanted with the available resources Max Payne 3 is more about dropping you into an action scene and letting you figure out how it was supposed to play, this is easily Max Payne 3's worst mistake and probably the main reason why the previous 2 were made, in any case how is this bad? Simple it simply is not a Max Payne game when you do this, this isn't what the game was about, it's also more frustrating and leads to another of MP3's offenses which is the cut-scenes, despite it's great style and being one the franchises most recognizable things Max Payne 1&2 let you skip them almost entirely with some scenes being completely optional, what else is bad about this? Well like I said much of Max Payne was the adrenaline rush of the non-stop action sequence and trying to do it perfectly but much of that is lost if you are constantly being interrupted by cut-scenes but not only that those scenes require you to do something very specific like shooting some guy in the head while you slide mid cut-scene, there just is no flow to any of it at all and it feels terrible when compared to the previous games.

    Narrative Possible Spoilers Ahead

    1. Let's Start with the obvious, Max Payne 1 & were self aware satires, while 3 is not, and this is pretty obvious and feels very off, while yes both 1 & 2 were played straight it's hard to argue that they were meant as satires when Max Payne 1 includes lines like "The truth was like a green crack through my brain. Weapon statistics floating in the air, glimpsed out of the corner of my eye. the repetitious act of shooting, time slowing down to show off my moves. The paranoid feeling of someone controlling my every step. I was in a computer game. Funny as Hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of", "After Y2K, the end of the world had become a cliché. But who was I to talk, a brooding underdog avenger alone against an empire of evil out to right a grave injustice. Everything was subjective. There were only personal apocalypses. Nothing is a cliché when it's happening to you." and who can forget when he thanks you for turning off the alarm? Or you know the entire level on 2 that is an abandoned theme park about Max's whole psyche or that most of what is on TV is either Max's story or his inner demons and doubts, except Lords and Ladies I don't know what's up with that but it was funny, in any case all of that charm and cleverness is lost on 3.

    2. Max's Character, at this point he really should be past drowning himself in alcohol, painkillers and wallowing in self-pity, it's pretty much the complete opposite of his arc on the second game and it's stupid, they pretty much rested him to how he was at the beginning of 2 and made him even worse, I'm not against making him pathetic and neither was 2 but this is just inconsistent and an insult to how great 2 was.

    3. The style, why does this look like a Tony Scott movie? I mean even the story is ripped straight off Man on Fire except done worse and with really unlikeable characters which really are only caricatures, which is par for the course in Max Payne (More of a MP2 thing than a MP1 thing though) but if you're going to rip off Man on Fire at least do it well.

I could probably think of more things but I think I'll leave it at that.

  • edited June 2015

I can understand that which is precisely why in my initial statement I referred to it as the worst sequel rather than the worst game, though it's obvious that I hate it enough to call it a piece of garbage, because well it's a complete travesty of a sequel they really shouldn't have called it Max Payne 3, I would really recommend playing the two previous games if you don't mind the dated graphics, they are easily some of the best games ever made with excellent game-play, level design, style and story, anyway I would really recommend playing them on PC if you can they are fairly old though and MP one doesn't run well on my PC (The audio is completely glitched out), #2 runs perfect however, if you must play them on console the original Xbox as the PS2 port is terrible, it doesn't look or run well and it had huge pieces of the levels cut-out because the PS2 couldn't handle it, Max Payne 2 is fine on either though, but the Xbox still looks better.

Also if you want to see good level design in a modern third person shooter I'm willing to bet that Remedy's upcoming time manipulation shooter Quantum Break is going to blow Max Payne 3 completely out of the water.

I will now edit in what is wrong with Max Payne 3 if you care to read it but it may or may not have spoilers for the originals and it's probably going to take me a while.

Also might be worth mentioning that I only played 1 & 2 until 2013 because I was really interested in Max Payne 3 and my PC couldn't handle it then because it was old, so yeah I liked them a lot then and last year when I got a new PC I immediately downloaded Max Payne 3 only to be completely and utterly disappointed.
