Lost GOT Data?

I have been playing using my steam account with no problem since episode 1.
When I went to play episode 4 tonight, I realized that I had to redo my game settings (like screen settings, turning subtitles on,etc.)
I go to play the new episode, and it shows that I have no save files to choose from.
I never deleted anything from my computer and have not changed anything of the game file, other than what I expect steam/telltale did with the update. Is there any way to get this data back? I did the support tool thingy that I have seen telltale ask for so here is that: https://www.sendspace.com/file/flb7t9

Thanks!

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. After looking over your Support Tool information, I cannot seem to find any save files in your save file directory. Can you please clarify if you played through Episodes 1-3 more recently, or back when they were originally released? Also, were you always connected to the internet when you were playing the game, or were you ever offline during your playthroughs?

  • I have played episodes 2 and 3 the days they came out, and episode 1 within the month it came out.
I was always connected to the internet during playing, through steam. I am pretty sure that I made an account when I started and I would remember getting the summary at the end comparing my choices to others in the community.

One thing that I do remember that I thought was weird was I got an update for the game through steam a couple days before the episode 4 update. Is there anything in that update that might have caused this? And the most important question I have is: is there any way to get my data back? I know that I HAD a saved data file, and my achievements on steam show that I played through episode 3.

That particular update was an update to resolve some performance related issues within the game, and should not have been anything related with your save files. Can you please clarify if you ever uninstalled either the game, or the Steam Client from your computer at any point? Unfortunately unless you made a backup of your save files from when you originally played through them, your save files will not be able to be recovered and you will need to start a New Game. My sincere apologies for any difficulties this may cause you.
