Poor quality

The recent update that came out for the iPod touch version of TFTB (1.3) has downgraded the graphics again. This is confusing as it has not improved the performance at all, it just makes it all blurry and pixelly. Version 1.1 improved the graphics for this platform with minimal performance loss, but this update feels like a step back as it makes it hard to even read the main menu text. It doesn't make much sense, the iPhone 5 and the iPod touch 5 both share the same graphics card, SGX 543, and a similar CPU (1GHz and 1.2 GHz dual respectively) yet the iPod always has to suffer the raw end of the deal. If it boils down to it, could a graphics high/low switch be added to the settings like the PC version so we can choose our experience, other iOS games do it so why can't this one. The iPod touch 5 is a lot more powerful than most people realise and it has so much more computing power to be taken advantage of, I would love this game to truely showcase that. Please bring back the improved graphics as this update makes it hard to enjoy the detail of this beautiful masterpiece.

I apologize for the inconvenience. I will make sure to pass your feedback and interest in a graphics switch being added to the game, along to the team. The listing of iPod support in the Compatibility section for the Walking Dead: Season 2 app is incorrect. The Description section has an accurate list of supported hardware. We are not able to update this section on the store. We encourage you to either ask Apple for a refund or, if you have the option, to play on a supported device. Again, my apologies for any difficulties this has caused you.

  • I understand that this game does push the iPod a bit, but the previous versions of TFTB (v1.1 and v1.2) performed a lot better. May I make a few suggestions though, it seem that the resolution of the game is running at half of what it used to be, so if it were to run at full resolution again there might be a few effects that could be cut back. For example, the depth of field blur effect could be got rid of, TWAU didn't have it and it has more detail in the textures than TFTB has and it runs a whole world better. Also reducing the detail or turning of dynamic shadows would help too as its not really needed. This might even help more powerful devices such as the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 to achieve those perfect 60fps in high action sequences.
At the moment it makes it impossible to read the small text in the inventory or on the title screen when it looks like a bunch of blobs.
All the previous and current teltale games (TWD, TWD2, TWAU, GOT) all run perfectly on the iPod touch 5, at full resolutions and detail without any lag or glitches, why can't TFTB.

Unfortunately the game was not optimized for the iPod Touch 5th Generation, and may experience performance and graphical issues such as the ones you are describing. I will make sure to pass your feedback and interest in the inclusion of the device as a supported system, along to the team though!
