I cant seem to get episode 3 to be recognized. I boot up the game with it downloaded and installed and it says 'Purchased but not downloaded' When i go to the PlayStation store it reads as installed I am in north america Washington state, I have deleted the game and installed episode 3 separately but it still isn't working. What do I do?

My apologies, can you please clarify if you purchased the episode individually or through the Season Pass? If it is showing as installed on the Playstation Store, but 'Purchased but not Downloaded' in-game, I recommend try turning your PS4 Off, and back On again. Then start Tales From The Borderlands while connected to the internet and the game should update to show the game as installed.
I'm having the same problem. I have the season pass. I originally downloaded Episode 3 on Tuesday off PSN Store. Tried to play it today but it says its "Purchased but not Downloaded".... So I downloaded it again.. installed it again... booted it up again... shows the exact same thing. "Purchased but not Downloaded"... Restarted the PS4... shows the exact same thing... can you please help???
Had you originally purchased the game through a Season Pass, or are you purchasing the episodes individually? If you purchased the Season Pass first, I recommend try deleting the downloaded episode, then starting the game and downloading and installing it directly from the in-game Episodes menu.
I had purchased it through the season pass.. i will try your recommendation. Will let you know.
I deleted episode 3, re-downloaded it...still didnt work. I deleted all Tales of Borderlands content off my PS4 (i uploaded my saves to the online storage before that though). Redownloaded episode 1, 2 and 3 in order.. imported my saves from the online storage.. and now it works. Im able to continue from my choices of ep 2...
I purchased it though the season pass. I did try you option and it still is showing the same purchased but not downloaded.
If the issue persists, you can also try turning off your console, then doing a search for the episode on the Playstation Store Website, and remotely downloading it to your console from the store page by clicking the 'Download' button.
If you still are not able to successfully install and play the episode, I recommend trying the workaround that @pshomii explained at the bottom of the page and see if that also works for you.
Thank you for providing the info on how you were able to resolve your issue. I hope you are now able to enjoy the game!
Sadly I'm still having the same issue after doing what you both said it is making me frustrated and i dont know what to do anymore.
Could you please clarify what country/region you are currently located in?
