I really want it so bad! But I can't afford it. I'm 14 and i wish i had a copy so bad! :( My family is poor right now, my dad just lost his job and they won't let me borrow any money for it :(

Wouldn't it be nice if they let us buy just the first episode?

You have Internet and a computer yet you're poor?
  • edited July 2009
How about go and find a part-time job in your free time after school (and home-work of course :P)? ;) I know with 14 you are not allowed to work much...but how about mowing the neighbour's lawn, walking dogs, go shopping for old people that cannot do it on their own etc.
There are various possibilities. Talk with your parents about it that you want to earn the money for the game, maybe they'll help you to find sth. Good luck!

It's just a game. Not to sound like a goodie-two-shoes, but you should really try to be a bit more supportive of your parents. Losing your job is tough.

Monkey island will still be here when things look up.

You had over a month to save up 40 dollars which isn't that much money. Even at your age I could always find a way to make money. I'd suggest asking your parents for things to do around the house for money or something simular to that. Stuff you already don't do that no one really likes doing maybe such as mowing the lawn etc.

    Sell something on Ebay.
  • edited July 2009
I don't know how ebay works. I got single player games like Fable, etc...but i don't know how to mail them to them and what to use as packages.

If anyone is not using their code to get 1 free episode on there store, may i have it to save it up until they have the episodes alone? Please, pm me! I really wanna get it

No one here will buy the game for you

If you have a computer and internet you are not too poor to afford the game

Be more supportive to your family

    Google how ebay works

Do jobs for your neighbours, you don't need to go into town

    Sell stuff to your friends.

You use a box to mail stuff in, or hell anything it can fit in that's light weight and will not damage the product in question. Ebay is a auction website which is pretty much auctions online, you can buy and SELL stuff on it. Either way your parents are still coming across money to support your or your family's addiction to the internet which is not needed at all. So they are coming across money somewhere and I figure you can some how get some of the money to pay for the game or slowly earn it.

When i was 14 years old i was delivering newspapers and working in my local supermarket and i didn't need to ask my parents for money...You can do the same, where there is will there is way...

You say you live 30 mins from the nearest town....so? you're young, you can walk or get a bike?

I suggest you start looking for a job so that you can afford things yourself instead of relying on your parents to pay for you or other people in here to give you their copy of the game.

Yes, spending more money for the series over a longer period of time would be a perfect solution to any economic problem. How could this possibly go wrong?

    Yarg, it's worth the buy.

You should buy it later on, but you could always try the demo now and see if you like it.

Individual eps prob won't come out, they're not self contained.

You have to be 18 AND have a PayPal account (which you also have to be 18 for) to use eBay.

As sad as it sounds, 35 dollars is not much.
Alone one month of internet probably costs that much, which you have.
If you really want it so badly you will find the means to get 35 dollars.

Or you could just wait until the game gets cheaper/until you do have money.

Now that you mention it - I didn't realize that S&M S1 was down to 20$, i would feel like ripping of telltale, because 35$ was pretty cheap already (which i really appreciate, so please keep it that way ;) )

Do what I did to make money for the sbcg4ap dvd I might buy today, sell old video games that you don't play to people who might want them. I made 30$ selling a few gameboy advance games. Another thing, is to look around your attic, or basement, or whatever you have to store old junk, and look for any old stack of cash, the other day, I found $40 worth of change in my basement. Both stories no joke

When I first came to Spain at 17, I couldn't even afford a damned sandwich cause I had to save all my money for school. It wasn't until 3 or 4 years ago (I'm 24 now) that I finally had a regular source of income and I could buy the stuff I've always wanted. You will survive.
