Sound Cuts and Then Game Crashes

Hey I'll be playing the game just fine and then the sound cuts out and the game will crash shortly there after.

  • Also to add to this. After the game crashes it hangs in the windows processes and I have to manually go through and end it by going through the task manager

    My apologies, can you please clarify which Episode you are experiencing the crash in? If you are experiencing it in Episode 1, can you please clarify what you currently have your sound settings set to? If you currently have your Sound settings set to 2.1 or 5.1 Surround Sound, please try changing them to Stereo (Left and Right speakers), then start the game, and you should be able to progress in the episode.

    If the issue persists, can you please clarify exactly what part in the episode the game crashes?

  • Hey, I've had this issue through every episode I've played so far. I've just gotten into Episode 3. The issue is not persistent at one location and will randomly appear at any point.

    Currently my PC is also set to playback in Stereo mode and I am using a headset that does not support 2.1 to 5.1 surround.

    After looking over your Support Tool information again, I noticed you have both the game and Steam installed to a secondary drive. I recommend try installing an instance of Steam, and reinstalling the game on your default drive (C:\ drive) then start the game, and you should not experience the crashing anymore.

  • I have gone ahead and installed the game on the C drive as you have requested and this has not fixed anything. I am partially through episode 4 now.

    It's too late to ask for a PC refund I suppose. I would just purchase it on my PS4 seeing as its on sale this week as well.

    Guess this is the last time I buy a TT game for PC.
