Issue with choices transferring episodes

Whenever I for instance play episode 2 or 3, my choices from the previous episode do not seem to transfer over. For example, after starting episode 3, the color of the RV changed to a different color scheme compared to the color choice I bought in episode 2. I believe this is congruent with another issue I'm facing in that whenever I complete an episode, where it would normally show my choices, it is shows the hero's names with no statistics on either side of the screen. "My choices" is also consistently locked regardless of an episode being completed. However, they are viewable on the site. I have already redownloaded the game from steam. I also already made a completely new play-through with the same issues arising. My game cache has already been verified and I have had constant internet the whole time playing. Here are my results from the diagnostic https://www.sendspace.com/file/cejpy0

I apologize for any difficulties caused by this. After looking up your Telltale account in our database, I can see your choices recorded properly, but it appears that you have used two different access points. Can you please clarify if you started playing the game on one computer, and then installed the game on another computer to continue your playthrough? If so, your choices would have unfortunately not been carried over between the two computers.

  • Hi. I originally played the game on one computer until I changed to the one I am currently on. That said I have started on a new save file only played on my current computer and the issue still persists. Would uninstalling it from my other computer help in anyway?

  • I'm having the same issue. I didn't download have a system crash or anything like that when I was playing this game, but when I started up the game today, I noticed that my saved file was gone.

Here is the link of the zip file you need to investigate the issue = https://www.sendspace.com/file/ki8fgm

Also, this seems to be a constant issue with all Telltale Games. I've had this happen a couple times when I was playing The Walking Dead episodes as well. Whoever is in charge of QA for these games needs to make this a priority ASAP

I recommend try unlinking your Steam account from your Telltale account by going to your Settings page on this website and clicking 'Unlink Account'. (You can do this by clicking My Account at the top of the webpage, then click Settings from the Drop Down menu. Once on the Settings page, scroll down until you see the Account Linking section, and you will see the Unlink button next to your linked Steam account.) After you have done this, please try starting the game again, and see if you are then able to save your choices successfully.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. After looking over your Support Tool information, I cannot seem to find any save files in your save directory. Can you pelase clarify if you ever uninstalled the game from Steam, or moved/altered your save files in any way? Also, when was the last time you played the game? Before or after the release of Episode 3?

I unlinked the account and played my save file without signing in. I still seem to be having the issue.

UPDATE: i replayed part of episode 1 while unlinked and the results transferred. It even showed my choices compared to other players. Thanks Mike!

You're welcome, you can also try re-linking your account if you wish to see your extended choices on our Choices Page.
