I can't get into the comics as much any more.

SPOILER FOR COMIC READERS!

Is it just me, or after the fall of the Adversary, it gets boring. I really enjoyed it up until the fall of the Adversary and some other issues after that. I found Mr Dark quite boring, I hated it when they got into politician crap for a couple of issues, I don't really like the farm as much as Fable-town, I miss the Adversary. Does it get better after Mr Dark?

  • Some people agree that after Volume 11 (which is the fall of the Adversary AND the halfway point in the Fables series) the story got boring.

To me, Volume 12 onward is very dark and saddening compared to the previous half where hope and happiness is quite abundant. Likable characters started dying off, situations were more tense and disheartening etc.

I didn't feel that the story got boring however, it just got more tense. It made you think about what would happen next....

Yes, it gets better after Mr. Dark. He wasn't a very good villain to follow up the Adversary with, being that the latter is one of the best comic villains ever in my opinion.

I really enjoyed Volumes 17 to 21 (and hopefully 22), so you should definitely keep reading. Cubs in Toyland (Vol. 18) is definitely the biggest must read, as it is one of the five best volumes in the series.

I tend to agree with you on Mr. Dark's arc being the worst in the series, though. While I really like Volume 12, I find the rest after it range from good to extremely meh, but a weak point in such a long running series is to be expected of course.

    So yeah, keep on reading!

  • Sometimes the guy is crazy in the Vertigo

Dont stop reading. All get better on Cubs in Toyland!!!!

  • Personally, I would have preferred that the story kept its focus on the Fables fighting the Adversary.

  • Imo, the weakest Volumes of the series are Volume 7 Arabian Nights and Days, and Volume 14 Witches...

There isn't enough within each Volume to really keep you immersed for long :/

    Volume 18 is a shocker!

  • Some people probably would've liked issue 75 to be the last issue...

I know some people didn't like issue 50 at all >:(

How could they think like that? That was a perfect issue!

  • Well the main argument was that they couldn't comprehend that Snow would just accept Bigby back into her life that after 3 years away... They also didn't feel that Snow would ever need a man for anything (I think it was a just a sexist argument tbh)

How could they think like that? That was a perfect issue!
