Easter Eggs / References To Past Games

edited July 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
Has anybody found any?

So far I have:
(On examining a skull in the voodoo ladies shack) "Murray?" - Reference to the talking demonic skull in CMI and EFMI

(On examining the pillar by the glass blower's house) "I lack the necesary education, fedora and jacket to understand these marking" - Reference to Indiana Jones

Chuck the plant on Elaine's ship - Reference to Maniac Mansion

Try also to look at the piece of paper with the recipe at the beginning.
It shows 4 objects from the Monkey Island Saga

Among other objects, Guybrush mentions needing a rubber chicken with a pulley to break open the giant door. And of course, "Look behind you, it's a three headed monkey" (to the glass blower, IIRC) and "I'm selling these fine leather jackets" (Voodoo Lady's house)... And the action figure guy refers to someone who is obviously Stan selling him that map.

And those are not any random objects.
They're the objects you needed to kill LeChuck in each of the first games (just for those who didn't get it yet):
    Root Beer
    Voodoo Doll
Diamond (although that doesn't really kill LeChuck, but still a key item)
    Ultimate Insult

    and a sword.

Anyone notice that when you walk around the screaming narwhal and the dock at one point, you hear a sound trigger like the calendar makes and Guybrush says "What was that?"

    Wonder what that's all about.

I'm pretty sure that's part if the "hint" system. As I never heard it when I had hints turned off but did a few times with it turned on. Still don't know how to use it though, lol.

Yeah, I didnt understand the hints and ended up figuring everything out. Most of the time it was just Guybrush saying 'Arrrrrrr!' or making that sound even when there was nothing important in the area.
