I really love Gared and I don't know why people find him so boring. I did find his story sequences good.
In TWDG:S2 it was just 'oh, there goes another one.' so I'm glad I actually care about all the characters now!

I don't find Gared boring at all. He has rather noteworthy development out of the five protagonists. He has grown from a young squire into a hardened warrior.

The voice acting is fantastic in this game. Of course, it's no different from other Telltale's games, like TWD, TWAU and TFTB.
I'm also a big fan of the character designs. Yet another thing TT really knows how to do.
