Please, please patch to give much more time for decisions
Ok, I'm running a supercomputer here. 6 cores at 3.5 gigs apiece, and apparently a lame video card at only 1 gig. My mouse cursor trails way behind my movement, and I'm so rushed in my decisions that I try to select them quickly and often what happens is not even what I meant to click on. I often find myself reloading the same scenario several times simply because the decision time was not sufficient to get the mouse cursor to the decision I wanted to make.
And here's the real problem. My girlfriend is visually impaired. She loves Game of Thrones, and I have talked about what great games Telltale produces and how much she would love them, and she is looking forward to playing this game this winter. But if I can't even select the decisions that I want with perfect sight, there's no freaking way that she is going to be able to do it in time with a magnifier. Please make your games more accessible. With some of the best stories in entertaiment, why would you limit your audience in this way- all you have to do is give people more time. Then many more people that may have a "slower" computer or a visual or physical impairment will buy your product and enjoy your stories. Please put out a patch so she can experience this story as well.

It wouldn't be as simple as just giving more time for decisions. Each scene would need to be changed to accompany these longer times.
Yes, I hadn't thought of that. The scene continues in the background while you choose the conversation options, and extending this would be a lot of work. So how about an accessibility option- off by default- that would pause the action when the timer runs out, but still allow more time to select an option. That would be very simple to implement, but would make a world of difference for those with any sort of physical or visual impairment that prevents them from selecting the options quickly. I'd consider it a great gesture of goodwill for Telltale to open some or all of their games up to those who otherwise would be unable to participate in this sort of thing.
Would it be too simplistic to say to just hit the space bar to pause the game? I use that quite often because like you I just cannot read the options quickly enough.
PeterFdH's answer is more than acceptable. I went through the whole game without even realizing I could do that. Sometimes we just need a different way of looking at things. Thanks Peter!!
I'm completely unable to play the game for this exact reason. I'm not visually impaired; I'm Swedish and slightly dyslectic. I get through two options before the time is up and after that I click randomly in a panic. I'm pretty sure that's not how this game is supposed to be experienced.
As it has been said before, use the space bar!
I'm myself french, and the time I translate it's sometime too late. So use it!
