I've been screwed over, I made a US account, bought a US psn card- downloaded the game, I get onto the game and it still says "Coming Soon"- I own the episode, I just can't play it because of the region I'm in, I've pretty much wasted £10, or do you think it will activate when the episode releases for us?
I am also very disappointed with this. My friend who actually introduced me to the game (and The Walking Dead in general) has an XBox and he was able to download and play it. I was really looking forward to this, hence why I bought the season pass
Puzzlebox did let people know about the situation as soon as Telltale knew themselves. She is an employee of Telltale, despite having the moderator badge beside her name (which is an unfortunate limitation of the current forum software).
Thanks for the reply Jennifer! This all makes sense and its an unfortunate situation, but why do we have to get these informations from you?… more Somebody who volunteers, doesnt get any of the money, we fans already spent on the Season Pass!
Why doesnt Telltale feel the urge, to keep their fans in the loop? Why do volunteers have to bear with all the hate, scorn and impatient fans?
Telltale isn't a huge company. They only employ 180 employees throughout the entire company (including non-game personnel such as web designers, IT (information technology) people, lawyers, etc.), and are based solely in the United States with no international branches. The console manufacturers have had a history of having troubles adjusting to Telltale's episodic approach - for example Microsoft delayed the release of the last three episodes of Wallace & Gromit on XBLA by months, and they only now started allowing season passes (only after the success of The Walking Dead), so unfortunately they really don't have much sway with the console manufacturers.
Telltale didn't know they were going to get a delay for PSN EU until the last minute, and by that point Microsoft and Sony in North America had already set and announced their release dates. I know the situation stinks, but it wouldn't be fair to delay the releases in the regions that had already had release dates announced.
This would make sense if the game had been delayed on ALL consoles. It hasn't been. Just one console in one region (the region that just so … morehappens to pay the highest price for the game, but hey-ho). I don't doubt what you're saying is true Jennifer, but the fact of the matter is that Telltale are a huge company. They're not some poor little guys who are at the mercy of big bad Sony. Therefore, why don't they have better process management? If they were anticipating this problem with Sony, why didn't they do something about it? More detailed negotiations regarding timespans? Getting a better idea of when Sony would have more leeway in terms of releasing the game? They've clearly managed to do something about it with Sony in North America, and Microsoft Worldwide - what is so special about these "big console manufacturers" when compared to Sony in the EU? In fact, the release dates for these consoles were announced last week. Like other people… [view original content]
I'm not happy about this, I don't know who is to blame but it has left an unfair situation! Is there any chance we could have the game tomorrow, that is what is needed to be asked, Sony Europe have put up episodes of WD outside of updates before.
Telltale need to take PS3 Europe into account whenever they set a release date, if that means a week later, so be it!

I want to like it, but by the time I get it, everyone and their mother has spoiled the game for me. Someone even spoiled it on a south park sot review video (wtf)
Sony claims that there is a small QA issue with the product, and if that's really the case then I believe Telltale Games knew about it. But even if that's not the case I can't imagine Telltale employees sitting in front of their PCs, fingers crossed and waiting for a Sony update. There are many game developers out there that manage to release their products in all regions without any issues. But there are also a few (Telltale is one of them) that can't, and they never claim any responsibility for the delays or say they are sorry. I would like to hear (or read) an apology for once. Is that really too much to ask for?

It's kinda hard waiting for this shit to be released due to TellTale constantly posting reviews on Facebook & Twitter saying 'BEST EPISODE EVER'. I don't get how PS3 users located in North America are able to play but no if you live in Europe you can not play this but if you are an Xbox user you and you are located anywhere then you can play too just not if you are a PS3 user in Europe. And having to wait another week? Man fuck this by that time we'll have been spoiled by the story. Although I know this would NEVER happen to anyone living in North America, just always us.
Can fully understand that. I might buy games later for like 3 bucks on steam, but my PS3 will never ever see a Telltale Game again. Wish I could get my money back.... but hey, if we are lucky, we can expect Episode 5 for October! (2015)
Well, this is it for me. I'm not buying a telltale game ever again... I have to play through S2 as I've already payed for it, but after that I'm done with this "company".
That's it! I had to walk through like 5 million twitter posts to find this threat because I do not want to search in on the official forum - because I would get spoiled.
Everyone is angry because of South Park in Germany, Ubisoft is so evil etc. - but Telltale does this EVERY SINGLE TIME. Wish the old one back - where they did not have the massive popularity and acted more like humans.

And now you all know what it's like to use the NZ PSN store...
Seems to be a lot of finger pointing on both sides as to what's caused the delay & we'll probably never find out the real reason. While it could be Sony's fault, Telltale certainly have the track record for last minute delays.

Yup you wasted £10. If you want to play the American version you will have to download Episode 1 from the US store. You might be able to just download the trial for free and be able to play Episode 2 or you might have to buy Episode 1 too.
I've been screwed over, I made a US account, bought a US psn card- downloaded the game, I get onto the game and it still says "Coming Soon"-… more I own the episode, I just can't play it because of the region I'm in, I've pretty much wasted £10, or do you think it will activate when the episode releases for us?
It's been at least three full days since the release of The Walking Dead S2 Episode 2 (March 4th) and nearly every segment of the new episode has been spoilt for me. Like some of you fine folks, I'd imagine that at least some of you have friends who are also interested in the game and have it already on either PS3 (U.S) PC, IOS or Xbox 360. Now when you have a cluster of these friends openly discussing elements of the game in person (to other friends), on social media, even going as far as posting spoilerific pics - HOW exactly do you just 'avoid' spoilers? By completely forgoing the internet? In 2014!? Instead maybe you're subscribed to a host or choice few Youtuber - one who decides that the thumbnail for their latest episode should give away one of the better surprises in the episode (If you're reading, stay the hell away from TheRadBrad.) Or maybe you're just at work or university, when suddenly you overhear two people you've never met openly discussing key elements of the game and instead of being rude and barking in their faces to shut the hell up, you calmly chime in to tell them you haven't played the episode yet. But they continue their conversation regardless because who-the-hell-are-you to stop their conversation, right?
Maybe you lot have fared better than me these past few days but I have completely lost the motivation to even continue this series. I will, it's already been paid for and is already (from what I've played, heard, seen and been spoiled) shaping up to be a great second series. The Walking Dead is one of my favourite properties and Telltale was one of my favourite small time developers. I'm happy that they're bigger and more successful now, they've earned their successes and I'm beyond glad to see them grow. The Wolf Among Us is amazing, Game of Thrones is coming and I'll undoubtedly be playing that (along with whatever follows this season of TWD). As a Telltale fan, I'm just disappointed. You haven't lost my custom but you've certainly lost the heart.

Best Value!! Save on episodes 2-5 and PLAY THEM AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE!
Then, the episode 2 is available, not in my region, but is in market. You pretend give us a compensation with this? Or simply we shut up and take our money?
I guess your answer is "coming soon"

We give them money for content which doesn't even exist yet! - which has always been my issue with Season Passes BUT i made an except for Telltale... Guess the joke's on me huh.
I too expect compensation (OR SOMETHING) for this massive screw up from Telltale! Like next episode, EUROPE will be getting it a week before everyone else!

Maybe everybody who has bought a season pass for PSN Europe should have the cost of Episode 2 refunded, as we all pretty much know what happens in it now?!

Or at least elevated bloodpreasure. I somehow managed to stay away from spoilers so far, but I guess that is just a matter of time... Hope it is out today, one of the episodes was released on a friday in the eu last season

The versions are not compatible across regions due to changes in the code. You can't play a version of episode 2 from one region in a version of episode 1 (which is required for loading other episodes) from another region. Likewise, episode 2 won't detect an episode 1 save file from another region (nor will it detect a season one or 400 Days save file from another region).
You can contact US PlayStation support to request a refund. Hopefully they'll be able to refund your money for you.

Remember when PSN has hacked, Sony "gift" us 2 full games for the inconvenience; even when it was not their fault. I think they compensate us or refund the money.

no chance of that to be honest... id be happy with an apology and most importantly that they make sure that this isn't a recurring theme when the other episodes are released. wont hold my breath though.

I say we should do what Russia is doing in Ukraine and take over telltale's HQ and say we're protecting them from theirselves and staying until the situation normalises" which will be "coming soon" they can do it why not us right?
Come on Jennifer, don't be glib about this. Revenues from TWD franchise were calculated at c. $40million (at the last count). If you're making that sort of cash (from one title of many) you're a big company, certainly one that could be doing a bit better avoiding these sorts of delays. If we're talking about 'fairness' - how is it fair that people in Europe pay more for the game than people in the States, yet have to suffer with these delays?
I don't buy that Telltale didn't know they were going to get delayed by PSN EU until the last minute - they hadn't announced a release date, and still haven't, so they basically haven't known for a while now. As far as I can work out, Telltale had the release dates for this week confirmed by Sony US, Microsoft and iOS but didn't with PSN EU, so they chose to gamble and waited until the last minute to see if they could get it released. I'm sorry but whichever way you look at it, whoever you want to blame, for a company that sells it's games in an episodic manner, that just isn't good enough. Will they just carry on gambling? Will next week be a gamble as well? And the next? And what of future episodes? Vague promises aside, and your valiant efforts to excuse them, we've not really had much by way of a proper explanation from Telltale, or assurances that this sort of thing won't keep happening. A shame really, as it damages a really enjoyable game.
Telltale isn't a huge company. We should at least get a little something for our time we pay the same price for the season pass so we deserve the same treatment but since that doesn't happen we should get some compensation

We still deserve compensation it's come to my attention we actually pay more for the season pass in Europe. You also pretty much know these delays are going to happen but you still string us along until the day it was meant to come out then tell us it's ''Coming soon'' how come the first episode and season pass came out the same day in Europe I finally thought you fixed the problem from last season where Europe had to wait an entire month before each part came out. I really want to respect your company because my respect for so many other companies has gone but alas your giving me no choice.

We should at least get a little something for our time we pay the same price for the season pass so we deserve the same treatment but since that doesn't happen we should get some compensation
Well said really, well done
We still deserve compensation it's come to my attention we actually pay more for the season pass in Europe. You also pretty much know these delays are going to happen but you still string us along until the day it was meant to come out then tell us it's ''Coming soon'' how come the first episode and season pass came out the same day in Europe I finally thought you fixed the problem from last season where Europe had to wait an entire month before each part came out. I really want to respect your company because my respect for so many other companies has gone but alas your giving me no choice.
