A plausible direction for Season Two
This isn't so much a theory as it sounds too far-fetched for TT to head in this direction but I thought it could make a good story either way.
MINOR BIOSHOCK INFINITE SPOILER I got the idea from Bioshock Infinite when Elizabeth is hoping Booker will come to rescue her from Comstock house but as time goes on she gives up.
END SPOILER
This is what I think Carver's camp will be like for Clementine. It will be a work camp where if you do your job your reward is safety and food. Sounds like a fair trade except we know Carver isn't a good man. He may do what we all fear to Clementine but whether he does or not it will still be a miserable life for Clem and she'll be hoping against all odds that Luke is still out there planning a rescue.
Carver will try to break her will constantly telling her that Luke isn't coming back for her. Of course she won't believe him at first thinking that she can trust Luke to save her. But as time goes on and Clem loses track of how long she's been there it will start to wear her down.
Her faith in Luke will falter especially since I'm sure Carver will be killing people she cares about or anyone he thinks will cause trouble. If enough time passes she'll lose hope, as much as we don't want her to she will, because what could Luke possibly be doing?
Luke is off trying to find help. But he doesn't know where to find it until he remembers Kenny and Clem talking about a place called Wellington up in Michigan. It's a long ways away but he doesn't have any other option.
He figures a place like that would be full of people that want to rebuild society and who believe that if humanity bands together they can form a thriving civilization. So if he goes to them with a cause that will touch their hearts he's sure they would help. Or at least he hopes they would.
So he begins his journey north on foot. All the while praying for Clementine to just hang on to trust in him that he will return. He'll occasionally come across people on his way there and he'll tell them that there's a little girl in a bad place and he needs help in rescuing her.
This is where the theme of trust comes into play. Would people believe him? Would they care? Would you? Personally I'd trust him. But not everyone would but he'd be willing to risk his life to get help for Clementine.
Since it's The Walking Dead things have to go wrong for him. He gets delayed by either people or walkers. Specifics don't matter. The fact that time is of the essence means that delays could cost Clementine her life. After a good amount of time he makes it to Wellington.
Now all he has to do is persuade these people to trust him, leave their safe haven, and help him rescue people they don't even know. He tells them about the little girl trapped in the camp. He'll tell them all that she's been through and why she deserves their help hoping that they would sympathize with her and be willing to risk their own lives so this little girl would not have to suffer any longer.
Perhaps no one will listen to him until one woman overhears him talking about a little girl in the south. This woman would be Christa. She'd ask him for the girl's name and when she hears the name she can't believe that Clementine is still alive. Since they both know of the same girl the people of Wellington are now willing to listen to Luke and he tells them all about Carver and the horrors he witnessed when he was in the camp and how he led a small group of friends and family out of Carver's camp.
Then he tells them how he found Clem in the woods and how she snuck into their cabin, stole supplies, and stitched up her own arm. He tells them she has a strong will to live but living in Carver's camp can break the strongest of wills so time is of the utmost importance.
Many people are inspired by how much this little girl has gone through and done that they decide to head to this camp if only to help her. When they get there it's deserted. There are walkers on the perimeter which isn't a good sign. Luke and company head inside and throughout the entire encampment are corpses. They start looking for anything that will tell them what happened here. Whether there was a revolution from within or a threat from the outside is hard to say.
Luke slowly walks through the carnage feeling as if he had failed to protect Clem and everyone else that trusted him. He finds himself standing in front of a door. He slowly opens it and laying inside is a small body with a blood-caked blue and white cap next to it and a gun. "Clementine?" he whispers ever so softly. The camera stays on the body for an agonizing five seconds the player and Luke desperately looking for signs of life. The screen goes black.

well i hate the ending
Is that because it's open-ended or because it's cliché? Or something else?
Nono its because she is dead.the Rest is perfect
Oh. Thank you. Well Luke didn't check for a pulse or anything so she might still be alive. That's what I was going for. Sorry if it didn't come across that way.
Oh i thought it was a headshot well lets say she survived
Like the idea, though (no offense) it's quite unrealistic. People won't leave their safe haven just because of a random girl, suffering somewhere. And there's a really long way to Wellington and back to the camp. I'm not sure many people would be willing to do this journey.
Now you got me thinking. I could add a bit more since I unintentionally and strongly hinted that she committed suicide. As much as I don't want her to die I could turn it into a bittersweet ending like Season One.
Nonononono please not
Yeah I get that. It's a stretch that people would be so inspired by her story to risk so much.
No! quick hide it!
don't give them any ideas!
Thanks.
this was ok as a standalone story, but this would never happen in game cos of 3 reasons
a) this was all mostly from lukes perspective, and we are playing as clem, remember?
b) i dont think clem cares THAT much about luke, like the way you wrote how she will wait from him to come to the rescue and all
c) clem will not die(otherwise im gonna sue telltale lol)
but yea you said yourself that this was just an idea so no worries, just throwing my opinion out there in case telltale takes a look at this, hehehe
