Man, Am I Steamed: An Almost Tragic Tale

Even though I already bought all five episodes of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People as soon as they came out for WiiWare, I decided to also buy them for the PC because I'm an idiot who cannot be trusted with money. But now I can play it for two different systems! Maybe even at the same time! Oh boy!

So, I bought the PC episodes last night and had lots of fun with them. I quickly added them to Steam, which I use as a sort of multi-purpose launcher for all my PC gaming needs. I noticed that I was able to access Steam Community features in-game, which I thought was a bit odd, considering SBCG4AP wasn't a Steam-supported game. I thought, "Oh, how magical it would be if I could activate these games on my Steam profile so that I could show the world my true Strong Badian style!".

Imagine my surprise when I logged onto Steam today to find "Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Now Available on Steam".

Imagine the HORRIBLE TORMENT of finding out I'd need to buy it for a third time for it to have an effect on my Steam profile!

Oh, please, almighty Telltale peoples! Won't you please have mercy?! Talk to your boss about this! Talk to Valve about this! Talk to your supreme robot overlords about this! I have spent a total of $85 on this season! I CAN'T SPEND ANOTHER $35!

Wait, what? What do you mean there's no "Best Performance in a Tech Support Forum" award?!

    Please see your PMs.

Also, I'm curious - since you were already able to add the games to your My Games list on Steam, what is it about having the games on your Steam profile that makes you want to re-buy the games from them?

Man, $70 for every Telltale game is an incredible deal! That's like less that $4 a game.

As a fellow Steam fan I've got to say: there's just something really nice about the way Steam works. You log in and have your list of games, and if you don't have one installed, you just double click it and it starts downloading, and automatically installs when it's completed. You can do this on any computer and install/uninstall games as many times as you like.

Yeah it seems a bit odd to rebuy the PC games just for Steam, but I dunno. Steam has some kind of magic.
