From stange pairings I've heard about Ben+Molly(lol) and Justin(The guy from the prison bus)+Stephanie and there's even a Molly+Nate pairing on the net
Referring to the fact that, as a result of our society being sexist and in large part owned and controlled by straight males, the internet is flooded with lesbian porn, and female/female relationships get much more prescense in the media and in gaming because straight men are often okay with that but think male/male pairings are 'icky'.
Now, the fact that more ships are done between male characters is a response to this huge flood of acceptance for one half but not the other; to balance out presentation everywhere.
Nuke is my ship. I don't usually ship at all. my only other ship is Watanuki x Doumeki from xxxHolic, and that's because the authors are intentionally writing them that way, and nearly every other one of their series so far have stressed that love isn't bound by gender.
It helps that the game itself seems to point at Nuke in subtle little ways (like someone mentioned earlier in the thread that Luke and Nick share a room with only one bed) and the comment by Kenny might be a nice bit of foreshadowing. and of course the very close hugging, and the way they are always together... and the way they always go off to talk in private... and Nick's longing look towards Luke as he walked away to go to the bridge... and his overblown reaction to seeing Luke in danger..
I can go on for a while.
I only ship characters that have a reasonable chance of actually getting together. I don't get shipping 2 characters that never interact, or shipping characters from different series or universes. that stuff is silly.
I honestly kind of ship Clementine x Sarah. Or at least I could see Sarah having a little one sided crush. And you honestly can't assume someone's straight.
That's not what I meant. I meant legitimate lesbian relationships, not girl-on-girl porn made for straight males. Just because girl/girl has more presence in media doesn't mean we're more accepted, in almost all media we're being reduced to sexualized fetish material. That's hardly real acceptance. It's true that most guys are okay with it, but they're only okay with it because it turns them on. That's problematic, and less representation of lesbian couples isn't what is going to solve that.
Outside of that, actual non-sexualized lesbian couples don't get much representation in the media. There's a huge difference in lesbian media made for/by actual lesbians than fetish material made to titillate heterosexual dudes. We need more of the former.

You're right - it is hardly acceptance brought about in an ideal manner- however that doesn't change the fact that it -is- more accepted.
Aside from that, I completely agree with you.
I typically ascribe the lack of lesbian couples in media down to the fact that many straight men like women to have girl on girl sex but still want them sexually. Like 'oh she just needs the right D, I could give it to her well huehue', and they feel challenged when two women are actually in a happy relationship with each other.

Just imagine them eye twitching at each other and immediately falling head over heels in love. They could do things like kill folks and take all their stuff together.
Oh, well, yeah, true, but girl/girl ships created by and for... like, actual gay girls. And not straight men. There's a huge difference. Sayakamiki already explained what we both meant so I don't need to go into detail.
Guy/guy ships get more negativity from straight bro gamers, but they're the ones that actually get content from fans. You don't see people writing fan fiction and drawing fanart for girl/girl ships the way you see it with guy/guy ships.

Kind of an out-there one because they've never interacted, but I ship Molly and Russell. They're both similar in age, they both have the same dorky backpack, and they've both had experiences with shitty groups that make it difficult for them to trust people. I like the idea of them finding each other and relying on each other.
Also for some inexplicable reason they're both shipped with Nate.
That's not the craziest one i've heard. A lot of people shit some that are already dead. At least on the upside, Russell and Molly are still just unknown. It's possible

Fuck yes o_o I really miss Duck. And also, what it with this whole Cluke thing? Are people supporting pedophilia? Seriously, I'll ship Clem/Duck before I even think about shipping Clem/Luke..

I don't get what you mean at all, actually.
I ship Lee and Lilly, and 'Nuke' (Nick + Luke)
Killed her with that nasty hipshot!
O_O

Carley + Lilly = Carilly FTW!
Now Alvin x Juicebox is where it's at.

It's nice to find another xxxHOLIC fan!
Christa + Rebecca = Cebecca
Suck= Sarah+Duck
See what i did there ??
Nate and Jolene. Nolene.
Just imagine them eye twitching at each other and immediately falling head over heels in love. They could do things like kill folks and take all their stuff together.
I really wish we could have seen them interact, it would have been great :c

Apparently some people on tumblr ship Katjaa and Sarita. How is that even possible?
I don't get it either. I'm not homophobic but I see no way they could have a connection even if they had ever met each other.
Very true.
It all sounds good to Kenny.
Yeah, World of Warcraft.... But I still visit awhile and read stuff.
Fuck yes o_o I really miss Duck. And also, what it with this whole Cluke thing? Are people supporting pedophilia? Seriously, I'll ship Clem/Duck before I even think about shipping Clem/Luke..
My Ships:
CarLee- Carley and Lee
Lolly- Molly and Luke
Shoug- Shel and Doug
Leddie- Lilly and Eddie
Nonnie- Nick and Bonnie
Molly and Luke? I'd ship it.
Is it weird that I see potential in Luke and Bonnie?
BLOKE BONNIE AND LUKE ALL THE WAY
Not at all, she likes him, you can see it in her eyes.
Yeahhh
WOOH
How about Larry and Brenda? haha I think they had the most potential for a relationship besides Lee and Carley.
Typo?
Seeing as how naive Sarah is, it wouldn't be surprising if she'd become bi-curious if the moment came up.
LOL, didn't even notice. Yup, meant ship ;P
LONNIE FOR THE WIN!!!
Yeah, Larry sure did have charm coming out of his ass.
Carggie - Carver/Reggie
Heh. (ಠ⌣ಠ)
