Not to ruin your post, but I still don't think it's so easy to tell human and dog bites apart. I found his comment about the "fever setting in" way more genius than this. How is an open wound not gonna give you fever?
Don't be so sure. Probably all doctors see at least a few dog bites regardless of their specialty, but I doubt human bites are common. And a doctor's job, unlike, for instance, a forensic's, doesn't require him to separate dog bites from some other animal's bites. Also, like Eddie Maiden said, the way people place the dotted lines is different from the way the dog bit Clem.
