Not that I had any hope before but this really makes me sad...

Also hey Gavin! You're an awesome voice actor, love your work :)

So him willingly putting his own life on the line in an attempt to save another human being means nothing as to who he is as a person? You're really letting his tone when speaking about the event outweigh his actual heroics? I really don't understand that.

Not sure why you have such an agenda against Kenny. Again, there was nothing in his tone that implied anything other than his dislike of Ben. There is no possible way that you can safely assume that he regrets trying to save him.

    Harpadarpa posted: »

It really does. And it sounds like more than dislike. No. What matters is how he feels about it. That's what defines a human being. In the moment, anything can happen. After the fact is what shows who you are.

  • You sound like a republican. And the attitude is back. So yeah, no, not continuing this.

That's odd, considering I'm kind of in the middle.

There is nothing wrong my attitude. You need to learn to deal with people questioning your opinions. It honestly just seems like you're using a cop-out here. But hey, whatever.

  • That was just an inappropriate joke that was actually pretty funny. By weirdness I mean he's literally quite insane. For instance, he mistook Clementine for Duck in the middle of a conversation and is clearly trying to replace Katjaa with Sarita. He's extremely irritable(more than he used to be), paranoid(though in the apocalypse he does have a right to be), quite a few signs of insanity.

I actually like his character, but he is quite a douchebag at some points, so I respect the many negative opinions about him.

  • He's not insane. He is not replacing his family. Under pressure, I've called people the wrong name before. It means nothing. As for Sarita, I see no evidence that he's replacing Kat. Just that he has a girlfriend now. He seems only slightly more irritable. And only slightly more paranoid.

Despite all that, I really dislike him with a passion.

  • Weird. I just spent the majority of the weekend with some hardcore republican conspiracy theorists. I guess I just have a vendetta against the word "Agenda" after that whole weekend of 9/11 bullshit.

Nobody gives rhetorical questions like that unless they're being an asshole. You can have a rhetorical question, but there are better ways to do it.

Definition of rhetorical question: "A figure of speech in the form of a question that is asked in order to make a point. The question, a rhetorical device, is posed not to elicit a specific answer, but rather to encourage the listener to consider a message or viewpoint."

    How terrible of me.

Not at all. There was nothing in my questioning that was offensively motivated.

Just like in the Kenny debate, you're assuming things. You can't just assume I was questioning your viewpoint to be an asshole. That was not my intention at all, and nothing was implied otherwise. My use of rhetorical questioning mirrors the definition.

That isn't the point at all..

Your example is clearly offensively motivated, and is a personal attack. In my case, I was simply posing a question. There was nothing blatantly offensive about it. There is no reason for you to assume that I was trying to insult you. And I'll say once again, I wasn't. If I was in fact trying to insult you, why would I then be sitting here denying the fact?

    This is so petty.

  • There is some offensive motivation within the specific word choice of that question. Also, you might be denying it, because sometimes, motivations are subconscious. And you're right, this is extremely petty. Maybe next time focus on your word choice. Say it aloud, and see if the sentences sound offensive to you.

You need to be less sensitive to people questioning your opinions. Not everyone is going to agree with what you have to say. That doesn't mean those people have a bad attitude.

  • Well, at least Gavin took the extra step of APOLOGIZING for the episode's lateness, even if he has nothing to do with the game's actual development. Mr. Stauffer, on the other hand, seems determined to be a troll. If he keeps this up, I say we begin a petition to get his butt fired.

  • Job is a super awesome PR guy and a thoroughly super awesome person. HE has absolutely nothing to do with delays either and has to take more of the crap regarding the lateness than anybody making the decisions which cause delays. Give him a break, he's just doing his job and trying to keep you hyped. That's not trolling you, it's PR. There are very logical reasons why an independent contractor like me can say "sorry it's late" but an employee of the company does not. Does it mean he's not sorry? No...

TTG has always been... meticulous. They make great games and they want the product to be great. Sometimes that means making decisions to change things up at a late stage which leads us to where we are. A few days after it comes out, we'll all be saying, wow, when's the next one coming? Why? Because it's good. Just hang tight. Like Job says, it'll be worth waiting for. I promise, and I'm not trolling you either.

  • I know a lot of people give him shit, but you're right, he seems like a cool enough guy and I don't know why people would assume he'd be a troll on purpose, as part of his job. And on behalf of the community I think that we can all thank you for spending your time here on these forums, answering our questions. You're a gift from the heavens! ...Or you know, just Telltale. Keep being awesome, Gavin! :D

  • (WOW THIS WAS LONGER THAN I THOUGHT) Of course, everybody has to call someone by their wrong name but he was scarred of what happened, his family died one of the worst ways (it's worst if you let him shoot duck) and he was right there when it happened and it happened pretty fast, he lost everything in a matter of minutes, (I had a similar situation) world has gone to hell and he's a smart (enough) redneck who has survived the apocalypse for 2 years I'm pretty sure he's at least a bit crazy, oh and P.S the reason he called "Duck" instead of Clem is PROBABLY because Clem regained his memories, I thought this because when Sarita and him were arguin about the box she said "when I first met him, he couldn't even lift a fly" that either means that Kenny met a new person (and other new people) and they knew nothing about his past (which he didn't tell to them) so he could start a new life where people would appreciate him (I had a similar situation) OR either that what happened right before he met Sarita made him weak (mentally and physically) My theory is that he was about to commit suicide but Sarita found him and you know the rest...

I feel bad for the PR staff sometimes, when a possible release date approaches people tend to get excited and when there is no news or they get a small tease without any concrete information they tend to get mad and the first people they can get angry at are Job and Laura due to the fact they they are the ones who give us the news. I have gotten lots of "dislikes" for defending them when people where waiting for episode 2 of TWAU but i argued that they don't make the game so they can't be completely blamed for giving us no news, the idiom 'Don't shoot the messenger' comes to mind at times like this.

  • We interrupt this TWD thread to bring you Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

  • Sorry, Gavin. The long, often silent periods between these episodes have just made me a lot more high-strung than usual. While I still don't personally think what Job is doing is necessarily positive PR, I never argue about the authentic quality of an episode itself once it's been delivered.

Anyway, if Kenny tells me to chill and wait, I'll chill and wait. :)
