  • I know why. At least, I remember that Perusco (probably) said something about it but I'm not sure.

Yeah, I remember that season 1 had about 2 episodes that were about 2 hours or so in length. Why can't we have that in this season?

  • To give the opportunity for players to complete the episodes through one sitting. Meh :/

  • That's correct. :( But let me ask you this - who the hell among the fans ever said that episodes in season 1 are too long?

Because Telltale wants players to finish their episodes without any breaks. Like TWDFan86 said - "through one sitting".

    P.S Well... too late. :D

  • Yeah. Well... puzzlebox has good arguments sometimes in this post. Still you have to admit that it's a big diffrence between season 1 and 2. Season 1 (episodes at least 2 hours long, sometimes 2,5 hours long) and season 2 (episodes at least 1 hours 30-40 minutes long).

I didn't find any of the episodes in season 1 too long, the only thing i didn't like about season 1 was in episode 4 when we had the constant backtracking in Crawford.

Maybe he's right. I don't know. Like I said season 2 is really awesome, can't argue with that. I just have a feeling that episodes are rushed or something compare to season 1.

    Heres some from that thread:

"I think from a "lines of dialog per episode" basis, we have a goal we try to meet per episode, that I believe is what was similar to season 1. As many people on the forums have pointed out, probably having less hubs where you go around and talk to people at your own pace detracts from how long you spend playing the game. But I think from a story standpoint, it hasn't made as much sense in season 2 so far to have many hubs where you casually walk around and talk to people.

Also, I forget which series we started this one (I've worked on way too many), but it was decided a few years back that about 90 minutes was our goal for game play length - mostly because we feel like our games are best experienced when played in one sitting. " - bubbledncr

  • Yes, 120 minutes. It's just proving their words. They don't want to create episodes longer then 2 hours because it's just their goal now.

I would have to agree with you there. I just played episode 1 of TWAU last night, and it did indeed take 2 hours to finish.

Then why do you think they are making episodes that are 90-120 minutes long now? And don't say "because they're lazy". It's not that. ;)

    It's not their goal.

  • Because working on all those games they have right now is too much. Just because they tell you "nah, our goal now is 90 minutes" does not mean it's true. Transparency has really never been something that takes place in the gaming industry.

Well, it's your opinion. You're right that it doesn't mean that they're telling the truth but it also not a proof that what YOU are saying is the truth, you know? Anything is possible right now.

I doubt it will happen, but Telltale, would you be so kind to allow us explore the museum? :D
  • Well my friend i'm only looking at the evidence. We get TWAU's first episode and it lasts 120 minutes. It has lots of places to click lots of things around and it even has options to ask questions without the timer(Magic Mirror). It felt like they managed to translate TWD's system into TWAU very well. Now they announce that they need to ship TWD Season 2 by November and then there's no word of of EP2 of TWAU for some months. Logically you would think this is caused by the fact that they also had to work on trying to meet the TWD Season 2 deadline but then it was pushed back to December. Anyone with the right mind would know that there's something wrong with these constant switches of having to work between 2 games. Now it feels like it's happening again after seeing the drop of quality in episode 3 because they need to meet the summer deadline of Borderlands.

Alright guys, the Episode 3 discussion thread missed the 10,000 comment mark by just a little. It's a shame, I know, but we can still come back from that. You guys think we can make this thread have 10,000 comments before the episode releases? I'm not talking about spam or useless comments to help boost the count, but do you think we can legitimately make our way to 10,000 comments?

    www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/61134/season-2-episode-3-release-date-discussion-out-now-pcmacps3xbox-360-515-ios/p1

It surpassed 10,000 now, but it was just a few hundred short of it before the episode was released. Let's make this happen guys! Useless goal, I know.

  • I don't either. This might just be Jane saying, leave them, they're a burden on your survival, with Rebecca s baby and all.

The only reason Clem survived so long is because of the kindness of strangers. I will make sure as hel that she doesn't lose or forget that.
  • Last episode, we had a rough idea of what would happen. We knew we were gonna end up in Carvers camp. Now, it's like OMG EVERYBODY PLS BE OKAY :S

But, wtf, what can happen in the next episode? Anything can happen to be honest. Well, Rebecca's gone give a birth for sure, but what else?
